Bindings/Quad Handle
So I am building a plyboard an am in the market for some foot straps, or the link of somewhere i can buy them for fairly cheap. Seeing as how this is
my first one, i don't want it to be a money sink if it's gonna snap in half.
Also, if anyone has a Quad line bar they are wanting to get rid of, i'd kinda like one for my beamer just to have the option.

You're better off with handles on a fixed bridle kite, handles are just much more manageable. Go on ebay and type in kitesurfing footstraps, I got
mine there and they seem great, although I have yet to use them. $10.

There are a few DIY board websites around but I can't find my bookmarks for them. I know they offer ideas for making straps ...
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Same thing just easier and less to worry about. Don't spend money on that.

what you should do is get a harness so you are ready to fly hooked in after a bit, i reckon it's harder to learn to use a harness and handle the pull
of the kite that way than to learn to use a bar (at least on fixed bridle kites)
It's like going from a sports car to an old bus, going from handles to a bar on fixed bridle kites. You have all the power but none of the finesse.
bar on depower is a completely different kettle of fish and you'll want to be good at holding down a kite with harness before you take that step.
All imho, of course... but no lecture this time, eh?
Good choice on the beamer!
fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....
sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...
also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

you need to put a strop between the handles, search here for "strop" and you'll find some photos. The strop runs from the back of one power leader to
the back of the other one (on the little rope or loop coming out the back of your handles) and you hook that into something on a harness. something
with a pulley is best, but anything will do to learn how it all works.
there are safety issues... You need to fly it in winds you are comfortable in. Winds at your limits are not good, even if you have a quick release
built in, with the smaller kites powered up things happen very fast when it gets gnarly, you cannot always rely on being able to get to your release
in time.
