Anyone up for some ATB action on Galveston or SLP this weekend? I'm thinking of taking Friday off and driving down friday morning. Can someone tell me where the best spots for ATB are there? I'm sick of inland wind and I want to get some coastal action in...

im down man, best spot for south- east winds is at surfside beach in freeport. Ive clocked 40 miles in under 2 hours. the beach runs east-west... not exact of course but. SLP is pretty fun for buggiers, or if you cach it after a high tide but most of it is loose sand which isnt good for boards.

I prob could make it friday or sunday... lets so what the wind looks like though

also SLP is a real pain in the neck to get to if your in a car, the roads leading to it have massive pot holes
but is well worth it when the conditions are right...

I got my money on friday for being a pretty good day for kiting

I think I can be at Surfside by noon on Friday. Google Maps says its a 5-hour trip for me, so I can probably get there in closer to 4 hours. Gonna ask for the day off now. Wish me luck!

cool Ill let you know tomorrow by midnight for sure if i can make it. Im going to try and fix a leak in my LEI tonight, and i need to see if i have enough "funds" to fill up the gas tank....

Saw the weather ....warm...SE 10 to 15 //// PRIME \\\\
but work just keeps getting in the way for a road trip.
will be starting 4 -- 10s next week , which will leave Fridays open to play.

Sorry guys. I can't make it Sunday. I boarded at Jamaica beach Friday and Saturday. I love the feel of sliding on sand! I progressed quite a bit this weekend, getting myself thoroughly soaked, bruised, and battered in the process! Although the wind wasn't perfect, I had a blast! I also broke a strop, so I'll be having to replace that soon...
