One Weekend One Kite - which kite?
Help me out
I'm off snowboarding for 3 days next weekend and while i'm mostly going to be riding downhill I'm not going to miss the opportunity to have a go with
a kite.
Unfortunately i only have room for one of my kites + bar & harness.
Which one should I take? I'm thinking the venom but I have never tried kiting with a snowboard so I really have no idea...

Its a guarantee that what ever kite you leave at home would be the perfect one to have that day.

If you've never tried snowkiting, you might like the ease of the venom. No pumping bladders, auto zenith so you can spend time getting into your
bindings and not worry about the kite, no worries about a bladder leak, etc. And it should have enough power to move you along if you're not afraid
to work it like mad in light winds. Your fixed bridle kites would work too, but depower is so nice when snowkiting on a snowboard so you're not
pulled over and crush your knees and get snow in your face. My vote, V13.

Ditto from what rudeboy said. Bottom end of 14mph - top end 27 to 30mph depending on how crazy you are.
we all believe is called the expansion

Venom will have a better wind range than 12m cult. But you could roll the 6 and the 12 up together that's not much more space

arkay - I handn't thought of that! Its my non-kite flying buddies who are limiting me to one kite (they have seen what the back of my car usually
looks like!)
As long as i get them into one bag i can probably get away with taking more than one!! I dont have to tell them :saint:
so most folk who snow kite seem to use depower foils yeah? if i can manage to borrow one what should i try and get - an 8m or a 10m - (i weigh 160lbs)

Fly what you're familiar with. There's nothing wrong with using arcs or LEIs to snow kite. There were tons of people using LEIs at Tug Hill two
weeks ago.

Good point Maven - they all work really dont they. Its like my old C kites - everyone always asks why I still use them and I alwys say "cos they still
do the job"
though i sometimes get annoyed trying to re-launch them on the water - can be a real pain compared to more modern designs - particularly since i never
went 5 line.
I think i'm gonna take the venom and hope its windy enough! :D

I bet if you leave a couple extra shirts at home you can fit the extra kites into your luggage. They will never know. And when they ask "why the kite
your flying now looks differant than before" tell them "it's the cosmic rays against the snow messing with there eyes!!"
