People are simply fed up .

Especially with government.

Also,
Now that the economy is somewhat starting to improve, company's have even a bigger choke around the blue collar's neck.
They'll be more work place violence this year than in 2009.

According to local Austin news, 13 ppl were treated for minor injuries. 2 were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The pilot(body) and 1 federal employee are still unaccounted for. I also heard on the radio that the impact site was mostly at a break room that may have been sparsely occupied at the time of the crash.

It's just been confirmed that one federal employee is dead; probably the one who was unaccounted for earlier. This is very sad.

wow, I'm sure TSA will have a storm with this one. AOPA has been fighting against TSA laws for general aviation, but this is probably going to be the turning point.

Its very tricky to prevent something like this from happening in my opinion. if you own your own airplane, what new law can prevent you from flying it?

Its too bad he chose to take innocent lives, he really did hit the breaking point.

I saw a statistic once that mentioned ( I may be off eithr way if some one else knows)I believe the number was 64% of all home invasion shootings of the home owner where done with the home owners gun found loaded and unlocked. Scary to me.

There is just no way to get a gun or anything else to protect yourself if someone kicks in your front door and rushes you.

A person would have to carry a weapon at the ready all the time. Then to determine whats going on and to get a shot off would still be unlikely, and if your sound asleep? it's already over.

Just maybe they'll go for her first and wake me up. LOL

My gun is ten feet away right now and I wouldn't have a chance.

So yea, I believe that statistic and its probably a good bit higher now.

Hardrock...live in yellow....that is...live on alert all the time. Don't have your gun 10 feet away...have it within grasp and make them kick down every door to get to you. Distance is time and time is the ability to make decisions. Give yourself enough time to formulate a response and act to protect life. My first gun is only an extension of the arm away....

Rocfighter....your number is probably close to correct....about the same number of cops that get killed with their own gun.

Guys...don't ever have a gun or present a gun in a fight if you do not know or are not willing to use it. I think alot of people pull out a gun as a bargaining tool and when it does not work they get dead with it after it is taken from them.

All and all....when your card is punched it is time to go. I will be thinking and praying for those families harmed by this guy's violent acts.
