OH CANADA!

Just watched the hockey game. What a nail biter!!! Congratulations to our brothers up north. Losing to the Canadians to get a silver aint so bad. It's not like we lost to Jamaica.

Canada did a great job with the games overall, Both in production and performance. Bravo!!!

It was a fantastic hockey game that could have gone either way - what a great goal for US in the last few seconds to run to overtime. And of course from the CDN perspective with Crosby nailing the overtime winner - great game all round. Before the game I never thought it would play out that way - great entertainment.
I can hear the cars honking driving around the neighborhood ....

Vancouver has moved way up on our list of "must see" places. I know that a lot of folks here have poo-poohed the Olympics but we thought that Canada did a great job. And Canada has had our back big time in every major crisis and conflict. Thanks and Godspeed.

I felt a little isolated. First of all nobody in Texas watches hockey, second I was the only one celebrating. :singing:
It was an excellent game played by both teams.

Watching the games really made me think about going home...

THANK YOU CANADA!!!

Up here in New Hampshire we have been devastated by the recent storm... (Google Hampton beach Fire to see what has happened) Still 200,000 without power. Flooding and freezing temps, downed trees everywhere. Looks like a war zone (Literally) They have declared a state of emergency up here, and it will be days before things return to somewhat "Normal"

The reason for the post is to THANK our friends from Canada, because it was a crew that drove in from New Brunswick that worked thru the night to get our power back on yesterday afternoon. When the power came back up I had eight Canadiens at my door asking if they could watch the last period of the game... So we had eight Canadiens and half a dozen Americans watching the game in my living room While the heat was coming back up.You should have seen them when we scored with 24 seconds left!!!!!

I will most certainly miss my friends from Canada at this years NABX, but made new ones in a group of line workers from New Brunswick. They are still in our neighborhood for the next day or so, and my wife is planning on cooking a huge meal for them all tonight!

We are finally warm and have averted a flood in our home Thanks to our new friends from Canada....

That is a GREAT story!! I have relayed it to many friends, thanks.

My only disappointment in the post-game is the sulking and dejection on the part of the American team at the medal ceremony; I thought it was unsportsmanlike. We lost to a great team and took Silver. Suck it Up!!!

I was 29 when the Olympics came to my home town of Calgary .
I was up at the bars , ceremonies, nightly fire works and all every night for the wholes show. It was the time of my life !

I moved here in late 88 and now I got a second chance at the Olympic experience.
I noticed by the 1st week night that it wasn't the same for me this time. My sleep was disturbed at 10:45 by the fire works. I had to plan days ahead to go out to a celebration and I wasn't enjoying the crowds. What a bummer it is getting older. :shocked2: The games were a lot of fun but I know the younger me would have gotten a lot more out of them.

For ME it was winning Moguls that was the climax!

Many people said the same thing about the women's team after the gold medal game loss to guess who. But unless you have played hockey, I am guessing that living in GA. you did not play much hockey as a kid, you can not understand the demands the game has on your body and mind and emotions. If our teams had lost they would have had the same heartbroken expressions. Hockey is one of the toughest games in the world with huge emotional and physical impacts. The intensity is incredible. When the game is over if you win the high is incredible. When you lose, the low is awful. It is made all the worse in an overtime loss because seconds before you were in it and then you 've lost.
Give your guys a break. That was some of the most exciting hockey I've seen in many years. The only games that have come to raising that much excitement that I can remember was the first Russia Canada series of the 70's. I think I can give thanks from all Canadians to Team USA for the great game, and the gold.;)

Yeah I grew up in NY skating on the frozen ponds in the neighborhood. No boards to smash into though! Just an occasional tree or neighbor. ;-)
