volunteering

I am thinking about volunteering for one of the events but I don't know what is expected. How long do you do [what ever it is that you are doing as a volunteer] and what do you need to know? I'm thinking it might be a good way to learn more about buggying. Any suggestions?

Cheers Tom P

You can volunteer, we sure need you.

You will never work more than four hours in one day, and usually much less.

We need help with registration, and racing.

email me dean (at) nabx dot com

If you volunteer, you just need to be able to complete the task you start.

So, it's up to you, as much or as little. It's a good way to meet people for sure, and help our community.

Just a followup to let you know, if you want to help us out, we need your name, which you can give us through email,or when you register.

Our goal is to get Claxton out of the tent and on to the lake bed.

He really works way to hard on this thing, and has not seen near enough seat time. Those of you who know him, know he will not sleep until the last number badge is printed, and all the ducks are in a row. For those who do not know, Claxton has been our comptroller and accountant since we started this in 2003! That's right, this is our 7th year of (screwing)running the event since Fran went to the darkside(blo-kart).

Carlton is coming back this year to head our food service with support from Scooter.

Mike Jura will be there as much as possible helping out anywhere he is needed.

Fred the Mekanik will be back mangling the english language.

Our unofficial team is Garrett Freberg, Darrin Skinner, Susie Skinner, Dave Culp, Steve Bateman, Jim Spiva, Shannon, and others who will remind me i forgot to add their names, and what, are they? chopped liver! No, i just have CRS.

Our AV team is Lenka, Rob, and our soon to be famous, to busy snow boarding to buggy guy, Slawek.

If you meet someone named Freeman, and he ask you for help, you have been indoctrinated into a club with a very rich membership. Fair warning here. ;-)

We are introducing Paul Forrestal this year as our on site security expert, he will be helping people that haven't registered figure out where you do that(the white tent) along with our well known Coyote' Jose Sainz. Scott Skinner rounds out our behind the scenes administration with Blake Pelton heading up the race committee.

As always, the elected Mayor of our fair town is Corey Jensen. Tours of his office begin at sunrise, bring whiskey.

If you want to help in a specific area or activity, let us know that too.

Note: This year no buggy's inside the tent. Our Lama pointed out that the reason we park them inside is because where we come from, inside denotes a level of security. Since we don't need that out on our lake, we will have a corral where you can leave them, near one of our HQ motor homes.

There will be to much activity inside the tent this year to be moving those in and out, so spread the word to the peeps that don't read this.

I'll try to send out a reminder email right before i leave Florida.

Remember no traction kiting inside of camp, no speeding inside of camp. Speeders and kiters found violating these rules, will be forced to volunteer helping others, or made to wear a pink skirt. You have been warned.

Also help others to understand how we drive out to camp. DO NOT DRIVE IN RUTS. Drive cautiously and with care as you traverse the shoreline. Spread out our impact, remember we have to make up for the idiots that have not a clue about care of a dry lake bed.

As always, pack it out if you pack it in, and please remove all Matter out of Place(MOOP).

aoxomoxoa~! 26 days and counting down~!
