For the past few weeks I've been on and off with the "Today's Posts" link but more and more I find myself going there first and foremost. Thing is, I used to meander my way through the whole of PKF and enjoyed the excitement of seeing a new thread or an old resurrected one - and moreso because I found it all on my own.

With the "Today's Posts" link that thrill is gone but - like a true to form junkie - I'm hooked on the instant gratification that "Today's Posts" grants and think I might be beyond the point of no return. Will it ever be the same?

Sadly, I'm on here enough that "todays posts" has been my only way for years. On the other hand, if I'm only able to get on once a day, it allows me to catch up with one stop shopping.

I do use "Today's Posts", but it's not that much of a spoiler for me. I tweak it by adjusting the "Show thread activity from the past nn days " feature at the bottom of the list. That way I can get a feel for how active the forum has been for the past week or longer.

If someone posts something particularly pithy, I will hit there profile and click the "Search ALL post by this user" to see if they have any other insightful threads. That's right... some PKF users have a fanbase and they don't even realize it.

Also search kite/board names and gear categories a lot just to check on people impressions of different things.

I try not to look at the "For Sale" section too often :saint: (or at least less than I think Kamikuza might be checking it ), but apparently you can develop "muscle memory" for all kinds of things... sometimes just not fast enough :sniff:

Like pizza, instant gratification is rarely a bad thing.

Ha ha velly funny I'm a Today's Posts hammer too. I jump in the For Sale forum to make sure I haven't missed anything juicy though ...

But Kami - don't you trust that the "Today's Post" link would have shown you what you might have missed in the For Sale section?

Sometimes things sneak off the front page without telling me ... I'm sure my wife has something to do with it

I never even looked up at the 'today's posts' link until this post. I'm feeling pretty behind the times all of a sudden.

Mike your not alone. But I still do the scanning thing first. Old habits you know?
