Awesome Hovercraft

This thing looks pretty sweet. But, for about $13,000 it might be out of reach for most of our budgets. I can hardly swing buying a used kite, let alone a brand new hovercraft!

Hey Sailors,
Pretty cute.
Actually it appears to be a ground-effect vehicle with the hovercraft technology used primarily as the landing gear.
The Russians have had similar aircraft for a couple of decades.
Theirs are much bigger, used as cargo transports on the Black Sea, and are now multi-engine jet-powered.
Still, this one is very compact and maneuverable.
13K sounds like a kit.
Probably more cost-efficient than other comparable options.

while out of my range for another "toy" 13k doesnt seem too expensive for that type of experience. hate to see one of those wingtips catch water in a fast turn though....:Ange09:

Suddenly "island hopper" takes on a whole new meaning :o

Maybe not doable as a solo purchase (although it's in the same range as a high and motorcycle and some boats), but would be a killer recruitment tool for a club :wee:

Used to know several folks that went in with friends on small planes.

I agree those wings are scary. But what a cool ride.
