Black hands - shiny wheel(s)

Well, with news of a bearing solution from Silver Eagle I decided there might still be time to put a shine on for the trip to NABX. Got the front done (have to pull apart to do the hub though....just had to see what it looked like all together).

WAY more work than I had imagined - though I imagined it'd be quite a bit of a chore. But oh-so-worth-it!

Before & after (after & before):

Looks great  for now  but if there's one thing motorbikes (and washing them) has taught me - if it's white or shiny it's a pain in my ass cos it always looks filthy, real easy :flaming:

Confession #3758
More time than I want to admit, and certainly more than my knees will cut me any slack for has been spent shining auto parts (some perhaps never to be seen by human eyes) with chamois and tooth brushes.

My friend and I used compare who could keep their car the cleanest the longest after a wash/wax. Not particularly hard in TX, but I expect there were more than a few aggressive lane changes after the rains to avoid puddles. :saint:

One car totalled and another sustaining $5K in hail damage tends to put things in perspective right quick though.

Rust never sleeps? Truer words were never spoken.

Still, it's nice to spiff the things you hold close to your heart, once in awhile... errr...ummm I guess I should add "as long as you don't give your significant other friction burns with the buffer/polisher." :o ;)

ATB,
Sam

P.S. Nice spiff job, MB.

Friction burns? :o

Washed my car Saturday morning. Rained Saturday afternoon.
Washed my car Sunday morning. Rained Monday morning.
I'm beginning to see a pattern here  I wash the bike on a regular basis but don't ride in the rain cos I'm a fair-weather fairy
