You can search this forum for beginner kite advice and find troves of postings on this. You will find that lift and beginner don't go together. Bottom line is to get an HQ Beamer or Peter Lynn Core or Hornet in usually a 3m size for average wind conditions. Smaller if your winds are consistently over 15 mph. But to sum up your dilemma, kites that are good for beginners don't have much lift, and kites with lift are bad for beginners.

I'll second what Bob said, with the note that another good option would be the Ozone Flow in 3m.

You won't regret the Flow. Ozone makes great kites. Not cheap, mind. But great.

Sounds like a good start! Get that Flow and get flying + saving for the next kite!

The reality of the game is that no single kite does it all . Most people have a 3 kite quiver.

Your 3m will eventually end up your high wind kite so a good quality , stable one like a Flow is money well spent.

When you buy your second and 3rd kite for medium and low winds you will want to decide what you are out to do. Static flying and jumping are just the tip of the iceburg. Once you get riding on something the fun really begins!

Try and hook up with local flyers for good deals and great advice about what works best there.

P.S. Do a bit of searching about jumping to get a better feel of how to progress in to them. You need the right kite + motions to do it proper.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .
