Fires and camping on the Playa?

So I have figured out the only way for me to make it to NABX is to camp so I have a couple of questions.

I am am borrowing a tent trailer from a friend and I can't come down until Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Will there still be room in Buggy Town that late in the event?

I want to bring fire wood but I don't have my old washer drum fire pit. Will there be others that have a fire going we can join in with?

Has anyone tried a tent trailer on the Playa with the wind?

Can't wait to see you all there.

I have camped using a pop up trailer and plan on using it this year. The wind can be a problem. If it is real windy all you need to do is open up all the windows and let the wind pass through it. I did this several years ago and it worked great.

If you feel comfortable opening up the tent trailer and then driving down the road at 40 - 50 mph then it should be fine on the playa. If not .... be careful. I would hate to see you be responsible for your buddies trailer that gets torn apart. I'm sure a torn up trailer would be much more expensive than the $100 you would spend on the hotel room.

I always wondered why my tent flew so well, until I flew my first Power kite.

I'm sure you could slide in beside the motorhome and set up in it's wind shadow? We're good neighbours (I think). Don't know how buggy town builds itself and how tight we pack in though.

everyone starts at the tent and spreads from there. i think its 2 miles from the tent to the end of the playa so there is plenty of room.

come down bring your trailer and your wood, . The city is big enough for a thousand campers. Plenty of burn barrels out there for you to share.

My friend said today he has had the trailer out in some pretty strong winds so he seams ok with it.

I will try to bring enough fire wood to be welcome at a few camps through the weekend.

Can't wait.

Hey Dman - just flipping through the galleries and saw a few tent tents out on the playa so I'm sure the tent trailer will be no trouble.

Thanks Mac, just save me a little spot in your wind shadow and I should be fine.;) I'll be there on Thursday ready to rip it up on the Playa.

If anything bad were to happen weather-wise, there are more than a few like minded people off to the right at the hotels that would be glad to help out with a place to get out the elements should the need arise.
