Tires???
A preemptive apology for "last minute stuff" to those whom might choose to involve themselves in this dilemma.
i have the big smoothies on right now on a Libre Super truck.
Duro 21x12.00-8 mounted to "original eurotrax by cad.kat" rims. i think 2ply?
am i wrong to think these r not tires of choice (speed rating wise) for NABX? i think 50 mp/h is a speed i would be comfortable of achieving maybe
60
i just want to know if i will be able to get proper tires if need be.
i understand buying/selling is not permitted on the playa so i will pay now or come into local shop if need be.
i've looked before and come up short of finding tires here in edmonton (canada) for the big rims.
thnx Paul

I'm pulling off the big tires and putting on small ones for NABX (may look a little funny with a 4" slick in an 11" wide fork, but oh well.) From
what I have heard, the BF's go a little jello out on the lake bed. I think Kent from AWOC can get you tires en-route.

going by memory...it looked like the "crazy fast" guys using the wide rimmed buggies (like mine) had low profile tires to mated.
not sure though.

How wide is wide? I'm pretty sure a standard rim is 4X8.

i'm running big tires Duro 21x12.00-8. i'm not sure, just going by pitures, but it looked like those big stretched Apexxs and Libres had rims like
mine but with low profile tires. maybe not, they might be skinn rims with midis? i see the image at NABX shows a fleet of Libres with skinnies on.
i have an old PL Race that I ould bring instead to make things simple.

all the speed demons are running standard size. Ozzy had some big tires on and I think he changed them out to get more speed. You will also see pics
of Jons libre with the monster tires, but thats about it. bring the skinnies

4.8 x 8 - 4 (I think that's how it written any way.) Same size as a wheel barrow tire.

thats excluding DaSkirtz ROFL
i sent you a U2U. bring the Std Rims from your Peter Lynn. if you're using ribbed, you could blow those off first if you're short of tires. get some
4ply smoothies/slicks after.
smoothies are nice on the drylake so you can drift a bit to kill some speed.

4.8/4-8 My bad-had to look it up.
Courtesy of MFG Supplies site:
"There are 2 methods used to measure tires:
1: If a "x" separates the 1st 2 sets of numbers the 1st number is the overall diameter of the tire. The 2nd number is the overall width. The last
number represents the rim diameter.
2: Used for smaller and industrial tires. If a "/" separates the 1st 2 sets of numbers the 1st number is the overall width of the tire. The 2nd number
identifies the section height. This is the measurement from the crown to the bead of the tire. The last number is the rim diameter. The overall
diameter of the tire is D + D + C. So for a 4.10/3.50-4 tire the overall diameter is 11" (3.5 + 3.5 + 4). "
Good to know, I thought.
