Newbie

Hi everyone ;-)

I'm new to this site... I just recently ordered a PL- Twister (II) 4.1m kite (Still awaiting delivery) as I am practical a novice at this sport and kiting isn't a major major sport here in South Africa even though our coast have some of the best beaches and some seriously good winds. Hoping my new kite performs outta its chutes!! As I saw all reviews etc. on it recommend it 110%
Anyways safe kiting hope to enjoy this site :tumble:

Welcome. Good call on the kite. Sounds like you've been working with Big Mike; good call there too (how did I know that?). Just choose easy winds at first. Lot's of lift there and ready for a spanking if not careful. Good luck and be safe.

Welcome to the addiction

You'll find yourself very welcome round here. South Africa sounds like an amazing place and an even better place if you like to surf and kite. Durban sounds like a good place to start when looking for other kiters. Enjoy your new kite, you'll love it and will be looking for more sooner than you think.

Thanks for the info by the way.

I'm waiting for my first kite, which is a Twister II as well.. what a coincidence?

Good luck -- I'll probably need it too. It's like christmas... it's 1AM and I can't sleep because it's arriving in like 12 hours or so.

I'm sure you'll have as much fun as these fine folks on PKF say you will!

Thanks everyone!! Yip getting my kite from Big Mike Kites... received great help and price, recommend him to anyone and definitely will do business with him again! Cant wait to receive it. Thanks Mike!
bassboi- hope u enjoy the kite... great minds think alike ;) only ever hear good things about it.

Cape Town produces serious winds, pretty insane at times... its the windy city
Durban powerful winds and probably best all round place to be for kiting, amazing weather and winds to keep your free time busy.

Anyways...

Safe Kiting Peeps!!! :bouncy:

I just flew mine for the first time -- and all I can say is - WHOA.

It was way more than I expected. My socks are all green, the back of my jeans is all green, i got brush burns on my legs, and I was wrecked after just 5 minutes. My abdominal muscles hurt the most out of anything, and I've never had that much fun with the wind, EVER.

You will definately enjoy this thing -- just make sure to scud on your rear end first before anything else..

Hook it up to a bar and harness - then you wont get so tired.

the PL bar doesn't work that well with the larger twisters i find - particularly in lighter winds.

I fly mine on a Flexifoil traction extreme bar and an ozone XC snow harness. Awesome landboard setup if i do say so myself :)

Have fun!
