New World Record March 30,2010

At 07:20 the 30th day of March,2010 Fast Arie shattered his old record of 77.05 mph with a top speed of 82.9 mph at the North American Buggy eXpo, Ivanpah Dry Lake, California!

Flying a Peter Lynn 2.7 Vapor in very high wind while riding an Xxtreme Apexx buggy with Haan wheels!

As the NABX Team was doing damage control to the main event tent Arjen van der Tol, a Dutch rider made his high speed run across the lake bed. Winds were out of the south southwest and fast Arie made his way right in front of buggy town.

Witness knew it was a record run right away and this was confirmed when we saw Arie jumping up and down.

Congrats Fast Arie! I wonder what would happen if I changed my nickname to "Fast Bob"? I'll have to shed my skirt first! Ha! This makes me wonder just what the limit is. I think we aren't even close yet.

Wow - fantastic. It must be really windy this morning sounds like the tent took another extreme beating like last year.
Everyone must be having a great time - this kind of thing really pumps everyone up that is there to see it happen.
Keep going guys but we want photos and video and ....

Bet those big Haan wheels give a nice smooth ride with little drag. Obviously they are working. Can't wait to hear more!

Shaving off the treads reminds me of the World's Fastest Indian with Anthony Hopkins. Great movie about breaking speed records on a dry lake.
