Nag's Head 4/24 - 4/27

Hey Guys!

I've been off-forum for a while...busy with work. But I've got a trip planned to Nag's Head with relatives and I'm curious about where to kite and if there is anyone in the area that gives lessons. I'd like a little instruction now that I'm jumping...anyone?

Hi Greg,

Looking to kiteboard on water?

If so, there are a couple nice spots in Nags Head.

1. The old Windmill Point Restaurant (now closed) is great. There is a watersport rental place right next door. You can part in their lot and kite off their beach.

2. The (little known) beach access and parking lot behind Jockey's Ridge State Park. To get there, turn at the street (W. Soundside Dr) just south of the park and follow it until you see the signs.

Further south, follow the link for a good guide:

http://www.sbckiteboard.com/travel_guide?news_id=100&uni...

Landboarding and buggying on OBX is not so great. You must wait for the perfect wind direction (on the beaches) and/or go stealth on State or Federal property. :ninja:

I'll be out of town the weekend of the 24th-25th, but if you want to hit up a session in the evening on 26th-27th send me a U2U. Can connect you with other locals here.

There are a number of schools on the banks, but Kitty Hawk Kites is one of the best.

Cheers!

Hey Chris!

Thanks for the lowdown. I'm definitely hitting the water. I called REAL and they were over 30% more expensive than Kittyhawk so I may go with KH. I'm waiting for a call back from someone else but I like what they had to say at Kittyhawk. I might be up for that evening session on the 26th or 27th. I'll u2u my cell. Thanks again!

Action Jackson just took a job with KHK a few weeks ago. He might want to hook up with you and I imagine he could teach just about anyone something on the water.

Hey Bob! Thanks for the info. I just booked a session with Ty Luckett. I took a lesson from him a couple of years ago and I really like the guy. He's got a boat rather than a jet ski and now my wife and kid can come along. Too cool!
