kite for a newbie
I was wonding what kind of kite i should get. I am 12 and only wheigh about 80 pounds. I want to use it for land boarding. I live aroud pittsburgh PA
and there is not that much wind but i go to Kitty Hawk Nc for a week every year. In Nc there are about 10 - 15 Mph winds In Pa there are about 1-15
mph winds and 20 mph gust if im lucky.
I have a dual line foil kite but it is only about 40 in" long

At your weight, a 2.5 or 3.5 Bullet from Flexifoil would suit you will until you get better at flying.

You might also consider an Ozone Little Devil or Fury- probably not bigger than 3m though.

I don't think I would waste my time with that eBay kite, probably some cheap trash bag on a line from Singapore. Especially wary when the sellers
feedback is confidential.
Good kites on the lower price scale are:
Beamers
Busters
Radsail Pro (only if you can't find the above)
or a used, well maintained Ozone, Flexifoil, etc.

You should start off with something quite small, as you have had little experience with powerful kites by the sound of it. It will be a big leap from
a 40" to even a 3m.
It all depends on the money you have, and what you want from the kite. Do you want it to pull you at high speeds? do you want to get good air?
If you want to get some high speeds, I would personally look at buying a bullet (I'm biased as this is my favourite kite), maybe the 3.5m for now, and
later, when you are heavier and older/more experienced you could upgrade to a 5.5 but DO NOT take this out in strong winds. It will be far too strong
for someone of your weight, and don't even try to buy a 5.5 as that would rip your arms off! (not to scare you).
Many people seem to recommend small kites and say get used to this before you move on to the next. This is true, but I wouldnt start off too small in
the winds you have, (ie. 1.5m) as this wont do much for you.
At your age, I wouldnt buy a blade, even if it is only 3m, it's expensive and in gusty winds, very unpredictable.
If you could post what you want from the kite and your budget, I could give you more advice?
Good luck

If you can go to $200, the 3m Airush trainer is great, I use it with my mountain board.

Frenzy is not water relaunchable so unless you are at the point where you never dump your kite, probably not a good idea. May want to check out Peter Lynn, Viokite or Flysurfer if you want to go that route.
All are pretty expensive and may be better down the road, I would go for that trainer kite now.

I have never flown this particular kite, but I imagine it is quite similar to Thunderfoils, HQ Symphonies and other dual line stunt foils. While they
are great fun to throw around the sky on windy days, they are really not meant to pull you on a buggy, mountain board (ATB) etc.
As I may have mentioned before dual line skites also present the problem of launching, you either need a friend to help or an object to weight the
trailing edge down or you will be continually chasing the kite down to reset it for launch.
For $130.00 I think you could get a nice, smaller quad line PKD Buster or Radsail Pro if you look around.

You can get a New Tech kite from www.kitemare.com for a good price. That's where I bought my Airush 3m trainer and 6m Samurai. Jeff was super helpful in answering all my
questions before my purchase.

It is 2.8m and is for $150. I think it would work out. also i was wounderning if these kites will fly in uneven winds because around my house there
are unsteady winds when the wind is blowing.
