pulling the bar in when it was at full power for too long made the it fall out of the sky... WHY?

It also didn't have much float. Will putting 5 meter extensions on the 20meter lines that came with it help this? Will putting it in 5 line (freestyle) mode help?

self landing had me pull a cord which was on the left side of the bar. It made the kite fall but it looped like 3 times in the process. Will adding the 5 line help this as well? I'm so used to easy foil landings.

I'm no expert, but when your pulling in on the bar, your increasing the AoA and if there is not enough wind or kite speed, it will stall the kite and fall back.

Yeah, probably not enuf wind, tho the wind by be was 20 which is just enough for my 12 but not enough for my 9 (atom) to be powered. I imagine the real wind range (for me) for the ion 10.5 is mid to upper 20's. The stalling will happen when the kite is trimmed out too much.

What was the wind blowing do you think? And also were you on your board or flying static?

I was on a board. wind was upper teens to low 20s

Either it has a ton of depower or you need to pull the trim strap in.

I also noticed today that the bar is on a very long center line... too long, I plan to mod this, considering it already has a long depower strap. I also flew it today in wind that was in the high twenties. Holy shpanky this thing has speed and pop and now lift. It just needed more wind than yesterday. Gonna keep figuring it out, it's a very fun kite to fly. Another question though, the wind wasn't real gusty, but the kite was quite jerky. Any solutions? Thanks. I still need to put the thing on 5 line and see how it flies like that.

5 line will make it more stable and rigid

so adding the 5th line plus 5 meter extensions will give me more hangtime, pop, float and a more stable kite?
