Is this concept unwise? :

-get rid of the wheels and the trucks of a skateboard, leaving you only with the plank (shelf).. Waxing the plank;
-attaching it in a way to your feet (something I have yet to come up with), and reposefully slide on the gentle retreating waves!

I have always had this idea, ever since I had a traction kite. I don't know if anyone else has tried this? It isn't kiteboarding, nor kiting on a landboard.. it's ... something in the middle :p

Kind of like skim-boarding, under kite power? ATB deck with straps, maybe? I think it might be possible, but like most endeavors here seems to have a somewhat higher element of risk than most. Unforunately, when things go wrong when you are trying to push the envelope, bad press for this sport we love is usually the result. If you do attempt this, try to be safe (? if possible, IDK if it will work, never mind if it is safe) certainly have someone with you in case it isn't safe (buddy system,call 911) and don't endanger anyone else while you are doing it, please! Helmet, certainly, other padding at your discretion. Would I try it? HE!! NO !!!!!(well maybe, if I saw you do it first!)

Indeed, a regular old deck with straps I got all the safety gear I can have actually. that includes ofcourse a helment When I have created the board, i'll load up some pics. And a video of me doing it. We'll see if it's a fail or a win!! I'd go to the beach with it, in Belgium, beaches are pretty wide, cold and not many people actually get into the water.. they stay on the dike! (this time of the year

You don't need straps.

Flash Austin was riding a skim board and foil before it was called kite boarding. Sort of how it all started ! VERY Do-able !

Thank you, got tons of inspiration on this one! But what would be a perfect layer to put under the deck (board) ? Plastic? Keep the wood and wax it? Metal? What floats good on sand and water?
