I totally dig this video, it has all the fun feel we where having that day... I just was noticing that I was in your bug and BB was in the Flexi Scout and Wex was in Dakitez's PL... The music jams with this vid too and the perfect length...
Thanx, you did a great job I'm totally love'n it...:wee:

Wow guys, your playground looks just amazing...buggy heaven!

So Screwy, were those the 8.5 m lines that you were using in that second vid? How do you like the short lines? You have lots of room to fly at the sod farm so, given that cramped conditions aren't the reason for going to shorter lines, why did you choose to use them there....or was it just for the fun factor that you chose to fly on them?

One thing to glean from the short lines is that he was using a 3.8m viper as I recall and I was using a 2.4m. Neither rider had a clear advantage, so the short lines effectively take some power out of the kite if you don't want to size down but want a little less than your kite would give on long lines.

If Screwy was a real smart $%&, this is where I would try to point out that I was keeping up with him with a smaller kite, but that won't be necessary here. :saint: I do think he likes the short lines because he is a parapacker and it is so much more time consuming than handle wrapping so the short lines are less work.

@ airin, Yes those are the short 8.5m lines there too...
The short lines where more or less for fun and a learning experience, I popped a set of lines down at NABX this year and decided to make two sets of short lines with the scrap lines that I broke... They help in gusty winds too...

I agree to a point with BB's comment that the power is less, my idea is more that it gets in and out of the power quicker so in higher winds its a lil more forgiving and it also makes a bigger kite turn faster than on longer lines...

@ mougl, all I can say is try hanging out in your yard or where ever you can and try and balance on two wheels while staying still... I was told to sit on two wheels in front of your TV, I haven't but I do just hanging out... remember to do both sides...

@ BB, you kill me, LOL... :smug: I sense a friendly challenge (apples to apples), its always fun to race...

Coming in and out of your turns (in the bug) are more difficult (at least a challenge) if your used to longer lines...

Screwy, I feel like with you having more buggy experience than I have, I better get my digs when the opportunity comes along. The race always sounds great since I'm sure to learn something along the way and I'm finding it makes me push my limits a tad.

No more bringing the kite up to 12 and slow down to make the turn as it created gridlock last weekend.
What were the wind speeds that day of the race? It was cranking. It took a bit to get used to but was great fun with the short lines.

I can do downturns but one of us needs to learn (and teach the rest) what I think is called the suicide jibe for smooth orderly turns in a crowd. If we keep riding together like this, it will improve our game across the board.

I think this is what will clean up the crowded turns. Can't get my head wrapped around it yet though.
