Offroad Buggy?

Alright.

Who can tell me the best offroad buggy. I'm a midwest buggier and I currently ride a PL XR comp and Flexifoil wide axle with big old knobby tires. I ride farm fields. No sod farms, no beaches.. I'm talking tall grass and gopher mounds that are 1 foot high. My last ride in 20 mph winds through North Dakota fields I was bouncing around so much on gopher mounds that my feet would fly off the foot pegs even with straps and I'd take headers into the dirt when I came down with a twisted front wheel. They were like mini ramps!

Usually I'd find a better field, but I'm starting to think about a monster buggy that would take that abuse in style. My parents own hundreds of acres in North Dakota and it seems like something I'll have to keep in the family name someday so I should start preparing and either buy, or make a buggy that can take the abuse.

I'm thinking high off the ground to handle the tall grass. Big old monster tires for less rolling resistance, and maybe some sort of supsension to fight the mounds. Has anyone ever seen one of these as a starting point for ideas?

I don't want speed or a need to jump. Just a buggy to handle the terrain, cruise around, and fly my kites. I'm gonna check out popeyes and see what I can find, but thought I'd ask for feedback from anyone who has tried it.

Awesomeness! Maybe I should just buy an old 3-Wheeler ATV and strip it down to the frame! haha..

I ride bumpy dunes and some parts of the beach can be pretty rough. A libre hardcore with bigfoots and a KBSS suspension front ends works fantastic. It can be adjusted high enough, I think to meet your need.

That you can buy... probably a libre hardcore with full suspension and atv tries. Agree with Jim, and his buggy is really nice. Smooth ride!

That you can make, the possibilities are endless :)

I think the trick to off road would be to have a higher buggy frame but keep the center of gravity as low as possible with the ability to still clear rocks and not get whipped by grass:) This would mean serious monster tires. I would also think if you wanted to have an almost too higer center for clearence that you could somewhat compensate with hefty camber moreoever so with super beefy tires. Or you could tether the kite to the lowest point on the buggy ;)
