We had some kickA$$ winds on sat. ,but it was off the land, and really lumpy at times. And with all the pedestrian traffic, I did not feel safe using a racekite that could bowtie w/ no warning. So I chose my Flexi 4.7 Rage w/AAA kit because it is so user freindly.And after landboarding w/ an8.6 reactor II, flying the rage is a piece of cake. The buggy is nice and HEAVY, takes a sec to get going, but once rollin, your gone....

The only prob I had was the front tire is out of balance , so at high speed it acts crazy . It wasnt enough to stop me from haulin a$$, Iknew it would not come off or anything.

Everybody atWW really liked the 3-D neck on it, looks kinda like a motorcycle gas tank.

Tires are Kenda multi ribs 4 ply. I had the 4 inch drop axles on it for WW. At my beach i adjust the setting on the drop axle or run a straight axle insert. The reason is my beach has tide that runs left and right instead of in and out, so it creates these undulating mounds , which you can high center on. This thing is a beast of a buggy weight wise:piggy:around 120lbs maybe a little more. Here is a pic of it on the rack w/ the aluminum buggy I took to WW.

Lets see some more closeup pics. Show off your handwork and especially those welds! You are one of the artists in buggydom and we want to see what you came up with and what your ideas and thought processes were.

WWBB was pretty much its shakedown cruise and it passed with flying colors. I let ragden pilot it w/ his outlaw, and forgot to tell him about the balance thing . kinda freaked him out I think, But he's a good pilot, so he handled it well. no more mods in the future. ( other than new tire for front) .

I should have gotten lots of pics of it sitting on the WW beach. But I was too busy flying dude. ALL THAT BEACH! Aw, man now I'm jonesin for it! It is raining here for the next day or two so I will have to wait to get any more pics . There have been a few posts about this buggy already w. pics but it has been a work in progress kind of deal. Now it is done so I will get a few more. The tyres make a big difference in the look and handling of it. I would like a set of4x8 bling rims w/Barrows for it. Using them when I'm a bit heavy for conditions. That would take about 30 lbs off the gross weight

The big stainless steel buggy was awesome. When you said it was heavy, I wasnt quite expecting it to weigh as much as it did. I dragged it by the footpeg a little bit and got some pretty good indents in my fingers. Dang that thing is heavy!

Fun to ride though. Even with the wobble in the front tire at high speed, it still handled very well, and quite smooth. The wobble definitely scared me a little bit, so I didnt push it as fast as I could, but it was a very fun ride. Was able to do some little slides with it. Took a bit of effort to make the back wheels break-free, but it was fun nonetheless. This thing will definitely hold the high speed runs down and be a lot of fun with good wind and power.

Thanks Mike, and I'm proud to be the one responsible for turning you on to this fun. I never dreamed you would go so far so fast. You are gonna be a lifer for sure. Ya got some good skilz dude. I definitely want to ride w/ ya again. You can always fly/ ride any of my gear bro':bigok:

WELDNGOD- Might have to take you up on that. Its been quite some time since I came down to your neck of the woods. What is the best wind direction for your beach?


Back on topic, i love the license plate on the back of the buggy. Looks stylish and i'm sure it adds to the speed factor. Always seems like its moving faster when yer trying to read what it says as it speeds away.

Mike, the best is East but anything off the atlantic will work. I may scout out some beaches over in VA beach like false cape state park ,I got a couple leads to check out. Let ya know how it works out.

If you can make it up to Wildwood, its definitely worth the trip. Its a GREAT beach to buggy on.

I've been riding a lot on the water lately, but I dont really have a good location to go when winds are ESE. That and wind strengths this weekend are right around 10mph. Very marginal for water riding. Fine for Land though.

The neck was the first thing I notice on that buggy, very sweet. I'm just disappointed that I never took the chance to hop in it and go In the fall I'll have to make time to have more buggy time. We didn't even get a group picture this year due to everyone finally having a huge session on Saturday.

Donnie, it was nice to ride next to you for the short time that it was :tumble: :P

yeah Todd, It rocked out there that day. After a few runs w/ that heavy beast I switched over to the alloy w/ the trailer. You shoulda jumped in the stainless one and test drove it, I would not mind at all bro'. I am already makin plans for fall.

That look a lovely buggy there WG...but its still a lightweight lol...I think mine is around 145lb, I will weigh it this weekend.

Now the question....what do you prefer...light weight ally buggy or the heavier Stainless one...I guess I know what you will say...heavy for the beach light for inland, but will be good to hear your views...

For speed and stability, I like a heavy buggy, for fun and general thrill of buggying I like lighter weight ones.

That's a good idea Carl; I'll put mine on the scale today and report back. I did notice since adding the new tire and wheel combo that it did add allot of weight. For the most part it stuck like glue to the sand giving me solid runs up and down the beach.

They each have their pluses and minuses. The heavy one can hold a better line w/ a bigger kite. But that day I was forced to make do w/ a 4.7 Rage cause I could not trust a racekite over top of the general public in a offshore wind of 25+. The Rage was the safe choice.

The ally buggy is what I spent the rest of the day riding ,cause I could go way faster. However I did not come across Todd anymore , or it would have been on. I did get lapped a few times by his son Corey, who was in a blokart. The ally bug is more prone to slip out, But I think when I put the ally rims on it w/ barrows it will have a little more rear weight and a slightly wider tire footprint. I could not choose one over the other. It's like comparing a '69 barracuda to a ferrari, they both rock.


Glad you like Carl, I had to do at least one in stainless steel.

I put it on the shipping scale at work, it weighs 111 lbs. + my 170 lbs for a total of 281 lbs running weight.

I sat mine on three sets of bathroom scales and I wasn't far out, it weighs 150lb or 68kg with the new hubs I have just put on, add my weight of 160lb, give a running stock of 310lbs, plus boots harness, helmet clothes etc
