Just Awesome
FINALLY got some fly/ride time in on the new bug.... dang! stupid/crazy/awesome fun!
had 15-20mph winds, rollin with the 15 phantom... what a great time!
Gotta dole out the thanks on this one... BeamerBob, for the bug and all the help!! Mucho Gracias! Angus for the initial connection, and a front fork
bolt that disappeared into the UPS abyss, again: you rock
... and mougl... kinda.... for getting a bug and not shutting up about how much fun it was
its strange to me how the different variants of kite flying can really be SO different! Bug vs atb... just a completely different feel to me... but,
if a kite is in your hand.... its all good!
Just had to "vent" a little! With a dead phone, and no kiting buddies here, i couldnt blow off some of this excitement!
ps... any tips for stopping a little better... no accidents... just curious if there is a better way than the 180 to avoid a collision.... like to
miss a loose dog... :puzzled:

Awesome Drew! Buggin adds an entire new dimension to kiting that's for sure. Once I got rolling, I never looked back at static which oddly enough is
what I got into kiting to do. Only static flights now are to check out the general feel of a different kite (or just about take out buggy camp...doh!)
I'm glad you are having a blast in the bug bro!!
Id offer advice on stopping short but my way probably isn't the best way, so ill leave that to the pros here!
Thanks for sharin the stoke

It thrills me that you are happy with the buggy! That thing is a part of me and to not like IT, is to not like ME. Don't want that.
To stop fast, turn upwind sharply while you are bringing the kite high, but cut your turn sharp enough to slide the tires. This will bring you to a
stop in only feet. You have to have your tire pressure high enough that the tires slide and don't bite. I usually run about 7-9 psi. A few lbs lower
for rough ground you want to smooth out, a few lbs higher for a hard sand beach where you can still slide and want lower rolling resistance. You will
get a feel for what works for you. When you slide sideways, lean into your turn to help balance the buggy. Your seat can be adjusted to ride higher or
lower. Lower is better so you are more likely to slide than tip over. Just high enough to give you a few inches of ground clearance for your
conditions. Read the Buggy basics again on the Coastal Wind Sports site.

the atb and mostly depower for the bug too...why let her collect dust if someone can give her a good home ya know?

That and all the unintended (pfft, yeah right!) acceleration issues it has too! The brakes are there waiting to be tapped into.

Wonder if we need to adapt a 12 step program for buggy nuts...lol Glad to hear your having a great time and Bob nailed it on scudding off speed,
sometimes I'll throw the buggy hard 90 degrees each way quickly to get the same effect. Dam Flexi never came with brakes either. Don't know if you
have a good shield under your seat but have saved me many times, made mine out of puck board added a few decals for effect and has served me well and
helps keep the seat dry too.
