Arc and Flysurfers rule ! ! !

I dont see how tube kites got so popular.. Arc's and flysurfer's are so much easier to set up, self launch and land and in my noobs' opinion perform well....

Tube kite's kept me from kitesurfing for so long due to problems launching and landing....

I've dumped both in the waves and they both have relaunched without a problem...

My arc's i self land, but so far w/ my flysurfers I have had a random beach person catch them...They grab it and its just a light piece of cloth.... A tube kite is big and heavy, a little old lady couldnt handle it. ( I had a 70ish year old lady catch my kite yesterday and she thought it was a hoot)

I'm not dissing tube kites, to each his own...

Foil kites need a new marketing manager....

If I can fly, launch and land them what more proof do you need !!!!!

I think there's still a lot of people who believe arcs won't hold air and are afraid that if they ditch the kite miles out, they'll have no life preserver to float in on ... although I haven't heard to many stories of people doing that. So they're super-anti foils for mystical reasons. Oh and of course arcs don't make as much power as LEIs do and don't turn as fast etc ...

This sounds like a job for Mythbusters! Not the new crew, but Scotty the hotty and Kari

I know I should probably kite around people more but I love being independent and not relying on other people to launch and land me.

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

yes the FSer stoke is easily recognized...................................if you dont have someone to catch fly it towards the edge, crank it LE down, unhoook and dump it on your 5th line..................leash to your board handle..........................walk to the kite and place a tip upwind and sand it down.................walk to the bar back to your 5th line connect point.....................unhook your leash, wrap the lines on the bar, fold the kite, and your done..........

my son is flying North Vegas c kites and they make alot of power thru kite speed.........................very direct feel without the use of pulleys but a good deal of depower........................nice kites and as you both mentioned to each their own............................the worst thing you can do with the FSers is not tug on the bridals........................the Speed/Pulse 2s are shorter and easier believe it or not........................................

LEI are just seen everywhere. LEI brands helped push the sport more. for someone who doesnt fly much would have an easier time relaunching on the water. when you first start the kite spends more time on the water something that the Foils cant handle over and over. a few crashes are okay but it needs to fly to drain water out and dry out. I think LEI design is near there isnt much that can be done now, and probably have more design in the bar system than anything. The delta shape (F-One, Waiman) are solid designs, but the sigma shape (Naish) still seems odd to me.

locally a lot of fliers are buying FS Speed 3 so they can kitesurf in light winds, so most do see the advantage of foil kites. however these are more experienced fliers buying them.
as for landing FS kites, its possible to do without assistance, I tired it in 14 knots today. trim in - bring kite to edge - pull both back leaders - walk forward a few feet.

as for arcs, its still a niche market, most land fliers will refer them over lei. oddly so are the japanese kitesurfer now, i only say that because im sending a lot over there. there is a lot of landboarders that use arcs, and most across over to the water, so there is a presence there.

like you mentioned, each to their own ... if you're flying a kit, your family.

Really? I've still yet to see an arc here except on the end of my lines ... maybe I've started a trend - do I get a commission? :D

We're actually planning on moving house sometime in summer ... you might have to sleep on the floor amidst boxes but you're welcome!

Most people show no interest in the PLs ... Mr Miyachi at my home has shown interest in my foils and Mr Moon (some mad old guy) way up in Ishikawa got all excited when I whipped out my Phantom, but most people are just oblivious :(

This year ... it's going to be a big kiteboarding year!

Outlaws came with a fifth-line, stock. Though, the activation of said fifth line is not so pretty. In an emergency situation, I normally drop the chicken-loop from my harness, rather than pull the "little red ball". When taking a break, I normally just do a brake landing.

Now, if you have the infinity bar setup, that is a lot cleaner, though I dont think thats stock on the Outlaws...
