How to kite jump?
I can't find any good posts on static kite jumping. What is the best technique you have found?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
In the bag:
-Rrd Type IV 8
-Liquid Force Assault 6
-Pansh Blaze 10 (Traded)
-Prism and other stunt kites.

Mood: stuck on a small island with big trees and tiny beaches...
you can have a looky here:
http://sites.google.com/site/chrismwhittaker/pendulumjump
and download the video from there. It's the basic description of a pendulum jump.
most folks move on pretty quick from static jumping, I'm one of the very few who has not yet done so.
but you need a good jump kite. The blaze might be OK.
Also, kite jumping isn't safe. Skill with the kite and prudence with the winds will help lots, but the risk is always there.
fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....
sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...
also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

God, that last video made me never want to kite jump again! Im sticking to the water.
Funny thing, I did that exact same thing just after I made my post. Went up half as high and came slamming down. Pulled hams and roughed up a bit.
i just need to practice the pendulum part where I land softly next time!
Other than that it was a helll of a jump and wish I had it on tape! But id rather stick to water :P

Take it from a guy who has seen some insane heights, only fly as high as you want to full. Funny thing is I've only been hurt on lower jumps, less
time to correct. Make sure you know your kite and its characteristics before you even think of jumping and yes water is a softer landing and ice
really sucks.

I finally got it down, now I can land perfect jumps 6-15 feet in the air without killing myself again:
1) Generate power to get your lines tight by swooping the kite back & forth across the top of the wind window.
2) Sweep your kite to the left and run to the right/backwards to keep lines tight, notice the lines getting tighter.
3) When you feel the kite lifting you, jump, and redirect the kite for a nice landing.
Sometimes all I have to do is sweep the kite and kick off lightly and I will get about 5 feet of air.
This was with the 10 meter blaze I learned with

Mood: Just buggy...
He unpacked his kite.:ticking:
It was too much kite for the wind and his skills. Redirecting might have helped, but going up that fast your going to be in trouble no-mater what.
