Just wanted to say hello

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to say hey and see what anyone had to say about this amazing sport. I just started about three weeks ago and love it. I love in south west Ohio and the windy here is decent. I have a Beamer IV 4.0 and love it. It pulls like a truck at times. I'm very new to this sport but I'm hooked. It is so exciting and Relaxing and then the next minute a power struggle. I would love any tips suggestions anything. I am looking for some cheap good big lofty kites. I would like to get into jumping and maybe some landboarding as well. I have convinced two of my friends to get kites as well. They are getting a pansh ace 6m and a pansh legend 4.5m. Can't wait to try theirs. Thanks for the help

Welcome to the forum and the sport.
Watch out for the Ace. Those things have alot of lift and pull like a train. I have the Ace 5m and it is a lot of kite. Not a beginner kite. If your friend plans to jump with no power kite experiance bring a pair of crutches to the field.
Best of luck with the kites and keep us up dated on your adventures. And save your money. You will need a ride soon.
Roc.

get on some wheels and you will forget about jumping. That will be what you do between buggy runs or warming up before a run.

So, in your first post, you said that you'd been kiting for three weeks and in the second, you said that your friends have experience, that they've been kiting as long as you have... ... ... :duh:

Be careful with that 6m Ace. Start in light winds (about 7 or 8 mph). It has a lot of pull and, worse yet, even more lift if you have it near zenith. Just be careful, we don't like people getting hurt. It makes us sad :(.

Welcome dude!

Rule #1
Don't ever take for granted that you have experience...Respect every kite that you fly.

Many of us have been flying for more than a few years and we still get spanked, (me included..) broken up pretty badly, slammed or otherwise crapped on by a kite we thought we had made our bit#h. Every flying day is different with something to learn, conditions change rapidly. Go slow at first and you will likely keep your bones on the inside.

Yea ride something one day.

Thats where the fun is. I would like to jump a little more than I have but just don't get the right winds here. Gust leave me in a struggle and trying to jump in it gets too wild.

By best air times came as accidents.
No harm ever done but getting lofted when your not ready sux a bit.

Remember to control your kite wants and impulses, could cost you a hunk of change. Lucky for me I always resisted the urge and never got hooked.:lol:
