Need some advice on a kite to buy
Having flown several of some friend's kites before, i have built up a little experience with kite flying. I think the time has come to get my own, i
have some people near me selling some 2nd hand kites and would like your help to decide which one would be best.
The kites are a 4m Flexi Blade III, and a 3m Ozone Samurai II
The kites i have previously flown being a 3.6m Beamer, 2m Rhombus Firebee in high winds, and a 3.5 Flexi Rage
Which of the 2 kites would be better for me? I am about 11 stone if that helps?
edit: essentially i'm asking which one i will have the most fun with. will probably be sticking mainly with static flying for a while till i can
afford a landboard

The blade will be more useful (fun) with a land board. The Samurai will be easier to handle in higher winds when flying static, but a small for
boarding in most winds. If you can borrow a smaller kite when the wind is high, go with blade. When you first get it, start in light winds and work
your way up.

Is it possible to design for strength, if the designer doesn't really understand what strength is?

Both are good kites. The Blade is a more advanced kite that will have a smaller wind range and more chance of yarding you but would be great once you
had the landboard. The Samurai is much more forgiving and can be flown in higher winds but doesn't have the lift of the blade.
My choice? I would go for the Sami so I could fly more often. Of coarse it also depends on the prevailing wind conditions for your area.

I am happy flying in moderate flat winds of upto about 15mph, but I wouldn’t risk it above this, well not until I have gained more, much more
experience. This is not a beginners kite and I would put it into the high end of intermediate flyers to expert to release its full potential.
