Ok Im intrigued by the Rev kites can someone tell me about them? I stopped at kitty hawk on the way home from vacation last week and have been watching some videos and I think I would really like one, or two

4-line stunt kites, does mad tricks ... you want a 1.5 SLE oh yes you do chuck it in the car and leave it there for when you get a half hour to fly. That's what I do :D

Not to complicate things, but they're several Rev models, and leading edge frames. The cost goes up a bit for the more flexible, versatile ones. I keep finding out more about this hard way! ;-)

The kites are technically amazing. To look at one sitting on the ground you probably would not even think they flew, but as you have seen they do fly and they fly extremely well. I enjoy flying a rev if there is no opportunity to buggy. You can have tons of fun and not get tired because they have little pull compared to a foil. The only main draw back for me is I do not have a bag big enough to para-pack one. i will be working on this

Rev's are very awesome. Once you really get one mastered, it will improve your flying skills on the foils and teach you just how much you have been missing when flying your power kites.

I caught the stunt bug years ago when I broke my pelvis and could really do nothing for months, I spent alot of time at my dads house, he would take me out to a lawn chair on the hill in the back yard and I would fly a two line stunt kite he had for hours.

Our local Rev crew are getting on in age and it's not uncommon to see one or 2 of them sitting in their chair and team flying. :cool2:

Like Kent says. Flying Rev is a geat way to improve on your foil skills.

That young fellow on Americs got talent has me thinking about reviving our indoor crew this winter ?

No to hijack a thread but while the topics here. What would be a good recommended model of Rev for a first one?? I'm sure they get better as the price goes up but it would seem that so would the speed it flies at, thus hindering ones learning ability.

Been thinking about stashing something in the truck for lunch break in the parking lot.

Kills me to sit there and watch the flags wave in the wind. But its a bit hot right now,,,, wouldn't want to sweat.

The one that I would highly recommend is the Rev 1.5 SLE. This model is right between the Rev EXP (beginner kite) and the Baressi Signature Series (B-Series) models. All three of these kites use the exact same frame sets and their shape is nearly identical, the differences between each of the models can only be seen when they are laid on top of each other. All three kites are capable of doing the same maneuvers and control nearly exactly the same. The differences is in the sail material and how they are constructed. The EXP is the most simple, using ripstop nylon and minimal panel layout. The 1.5 SLE uses more panels which hold the sail shape better over time and now comes with two frame sets that you can interchange for different wind conditions and different feel in flight. The 1.5 SLE use to be made from ripstop polyester but have been changed to ripstop nylon in 2010. The B-Series has even more panels, a slightly different shape and is made from PC31 Icarex (lighter and stronger material). The B-Series also comes with two interchangeable frame sets but lines are sold separately. For the price, the 1.5 SLE makes the best deal.
