The high winds and big surf seem to be a magnet today for the kitesurfers and windsurfers... Between the pier and the jetty (about a 1/2 mile) there
were a couple dozen kiters and a dozen windsurfers....
Saw some huge airs and some spectacular crashes...Didnt have my camera, sorry...
Everytime they came in for a rest they would pump up their kite some more then head back out...
Watched one kite get destroyed in the surf, tumbling, twisting, crushing... The kiter was ok, dragging his limp twisted kite up the beach...
No time for a noob like me to be out there, but sure wish I could be...
Great incentive for progression..................
One kite that was particularly impressive was a naish helix... Never seen a kite that could turn so fast.. Looked like a bumblebee chasing a
hummingbird...
Maybe next hurricane I can play around close to shore....... :wee:
