For a board, you might also want to keep an eye on www.surfingdirt.com.
For boards and buggy, www.kitecrowd.com is also worth monitoring.
In your original post, you your budget was in pounds. while there are UK flyers/riders on PKF, a lot are also US, Canadian and other locations where
shipping to the UK might be prohibitively costly.
The SD and KC forums above have a healthy UK population, and some of them may even be local enough to you where you might be able to forego shipping
entirely.
There is currently an MBS Leon Pro, Scrub Board Bag, helmet and pads for £300, but he might be willing to sell the board seperately and you might be able to come to an
agreement.
There is also an MBS Tom Kirkman, but the asking price is £338. However, the difference is what you might have paid for shipping from the US ;-)
Etchy was trying to sell his MBS Pro 95, but got impatient and pushed it to eBay where it sold for £79.
I expect you will see something to suit you if you keep an eye on those two forums.

Sam

Richard-
1. PKF is Power Kite Forum, where you currently are.
2. Yes, that is a pretty good deal on the Leon Pro.
3. Yes, you ABSOLUTELY need a SPORT-SPECIFIC helmet for this. A climbing helmet is NOT recommended. It will not provide the protection you will
need. Helmets that are acceptable will protect the back and sides of your head much more than a climbing helmet, a climbing helmet can really only
protect you from rocks falling from above.
I personally use a Giro "Remedy" full-face MTB helmet that I got for $70USD from sierratradingpostonline.com, and I would certainly recommend a
full-face helmet to anyone getting into this sport.

Sorry...
PKF = Power Kite Forum
SD = SurfingDirt
KC = Kite Crowd
'Fraid I don't know enough about the Leon Pro to give you a solid review on it. Most of the reviews have been favorable, and it seems to be pretty
bombproof. I think a few riders on SD have the board and would probably be able to answer any of your questions.
Not sure what you have for a climbing helmet, so hard to say. Some of the climbing helmets online look like they would be good for eating cereal out
of, but not much else. Do you plan to ride in cooler weather? Does your climbing helemet have closeable vents? See if there are any disclaimers on
the tags that say "Only for Climbing Use"

Whaaaaat ?!?!?! That's just seems loopy from a manufacturer perspective? Are they not expecting any falling accidents or rope failures? Some of
the climbing helmets did look like they left the back of your head and ears just hanging out in the wind. :o :o
Looks like Sierra currently have both the vanilla and carbon fiber flavors of the Giro Remedy in stock.

Indigo- it is sad but true, but that's about the only protection you're going to get from a climbing helmet. everything below a "hat line" is totally
unprotected.
I am absolutely satisfied with my "Remedy" especially at the price of 89$USD(including shipping to me). Is it perfect? No. But it works great and I
still have all my teeth even though I seem to smack the hell out of my chin and jaw with accidental bar-spins and face-drags when crashing. :D

I'm sure people have many different reasons for using unique names. I can only say that it offers a certain amount of anonymity. This is the internets
after all and people are hesitant to reveal their real names. If everyone used their first names, we might have more than a couple people trying to
register with the same name, which would lead to either people adding extra letters to get unique names, adding last names, or creating unique ones.
I, personally, am not in a huge rush to give everyone my full name. But thats just me...

Sierra = the Sierra Trading Posted that Erratic Winds mentioned is a clearance retailer for camping/outdoors/sporting goods. Their stock constantly
changes, but it is generally very nice gear at a fraction of what it costs elsewhere. You can save anywhere from 30-70%. But they don't always have
everything in all sizes/colors. Have gotten some seriously good deals from them.

Can't speak for others. My posts are always signed with my name.... so there is a person attached to all the text There are various Sam's on the various forums I lurk/post on. Have only run into
one or two wolves and none of them indigo (there is one on the DeviantArt site, but she and I don't really run into each other). I use the same
alias across all boards I frequent so there is some continuity there.
Why wolf?
Given my druthers I would spend more time as a child of night, outside of the requirements of my day job.
Also, there was a place near where I used to live where you could safely be surrounded on three sides by a variety of Tundra, Timber, and Arctic
wolves. When, they all start howling in unison..... well, some else said it better:
"Only the mountain has lived long enough to listen objectively to the howl of a wolf. "
-Aldo Leopold
Why indigo? That's a longer story.... actually has a nice tie-in to kites
though.
Why not use something more mundane? Because most of life is painfully devoid of whimsy and unfashionable graces.

Sam
