New lines for my bullet?

Hi

After buying my 3.5m flexifoil bullet on ebay and have been hapily boarding for some time now, if im being honest with very little research other than some youtube videos on setting up etc.

So, today ping! one of my lines snapped at the point it connects to the red loop thingie' . So im wondeing... were all 4 lines the same or did I use a weaker one that was for the kill system on the main lines? Thus far I have assumed they were all the same...

Im around 11.5 Stone and have never really checked wind speeds other than I wont fly when i feel unsafe, I have never been lifted or dragged un controlled.

So, suggestions on the reasons other than wear and tear? and also where (good sites) and what lines should i buy to replace?

Thanks all so much in advance and appologies for the un educated questions :)

Generally the power (top) lines are stronger. Usually twce as strong as the brake (bottom) lines.

If you got the OEM Flexifoil lines with the Bullet, one power line would have been red and the other power line would have been blue (to distinguish right and left). The brake lines would have been gray (and thinner) with red sleeving on the ends of one and blue sleeving on the ends of the other.

Some PKF retailers that should be able to get you sorted for lines:

Andrew at www.powerlinesports.com
Angus at www.coastalwindsports.com
Corey at www.windpowersports.com
Dino at www.dakitez.com
Don at www.kiteplace.com
Jeff at www.bigkidkites.com
John at www.powerzonekitesports.com
Jon at www.kitebuggyspeedshop.com
Kent at www.awindofchange.com
Mike at www.bigmikeskites.com
Richardo at www.ripsessionkiteboarding.com / www.ripsessionkites.com

Caveat: These are all Canadian/US retailers, if you are in the UK you might try www.powerkiteshop.com or one of the other fine UK retailers if you are in a hurry to get back in the air.

ATB,
Sam

the lines were all marked and looked the same as far as i could tell, but that doesn't mean much.

The I kinda need to know what numbers im looking for... i look at lines on shop sites and theres an endless stream of numbers that mean little to me being as I have never baught them solo before.

thanks

Power / Brake / Length
200kg / 100kg / 25m 4 line set for normal winds.

250kg / 200kg / 25m 4 line set for "Momma, this is scary... can we go home now" winds.

Sam

brilliant, just what i needed.

Just one more thing, in terms of money saving is there any reason not to buy the *moma* :D lines and use those all the time? or are they super thick and will create a load of drag on weak days?

If your line broke at the red ( sleeve ) thingy. You can by a thingy kit and Re-thingy your kite !

Just be sure and re-sleave all 4 lines to equal lengths .

A thingy kit is only about $7 and can be sent regular mail. ANY decent kite shop should have sleeve kits.

If you are jumping with that kite be VERY careful. The Bullet is designed with pull over lift. I have seen a FEW people thrown hard into the ground when trying to jump with Bullets ! If it feels it is going bad let go right away or that kite may throw you to the ground with force.

:bigok:

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

YES, Re-sleeving is a Cheap and acceptable option. Even a sport kite shop should have kits.

YES, the Bullet is excellent for what you are using it for ! Just be aware of it's habit of slamming you downwind when you think you are about to jump.
