looks like the right general technique... i weigh 190... with my 4.9 blade that i used for jumping, i needed at least 16-18 mph to get some good
air...
dont rush out and find a storm to fly in... slowly work your way up as most of us have, learning to control the kite in higher and higher winds...
you will get it eventually, but here, i think your problem is lack of wind... it also is recommended that you dont do jumps on a kite smaller than 5m,
though i have ignored that one a few times

What I Am In The Market For: Peter Lynn Vapors, Weatherproof Kite Buggy Bag for Libre, PL or Flexi Small Buggy to Tow With, Flexi Pro Link Handles,
Flexi Lines, Flexi Kite Killers
The thing is, though... if the winds would be any higher, the only thing i'd be able to do is hold this beast at the zenith... because if I'd try even
a tight loop, it'd drag me for a long while LOL
I think that what i have seen in a lot of attempts at jumps on video including this one is a lack of patience....as you are running the kite up wind
for a pendulum jump , lets say you are running backwards and to the left, the kite should be approaching the 10 oclock position..that is if 12 is
zenith...as the kite reached 10 o'clock it should be moving quite rapidly..mean while you are running backwards, a bit sideways left, and
upwind.....so when the kite reaches 10 pull hard on the right handle and push on the left handle but the most important part is to KEEP RUNNING
backwards while doing this...that way two things happen...the kite will go the opposite direction and while you are running the kite should lift if
the wind is right...then its a rope swing...as soon as your feet lift off the ground make sure that you give a good tug on the left handle...that way
you can redirect the kite back to zenith and it won't stall and drop you like a rock....the key though is having the patience to wait for the kite to
lift you just before you lighten up on your feet....
swing kite from right to left --- run to the right --- when airborne pull on the brake line in a bit to gain more lift --- also you'll need to
redirect the back to 12 o'clock so pull right handle too
feel the kite out, let it lift you rather than you trying to pre-launch yourself.

not as easy as it looks in all those utube videos is it?
I would say from what i saw on the video was you did not have enough wind. There were a few times when you dropped it down in the power zone and you
didn't have enough power to get a scud. That is the thing people do not realize when they are watching these crazy jumps in videos is that the pilot
is extremely overpowered most of the time.
I am guessing you are fairly new to the sport,so as your skills progress you will be able to handle the kite better in the higher winds. Patience and
Practice! you gotta crawl before you can fly
this is what i used, and a few times it has worked too well...dino's right tho, most jumpers are overpowered when they land good jumps... i know when
i jump, if the kite powers up in the middle of the window... im toast!

My most perfect days have been on Jekyll
thanks for all the input guys.. I truely felt as though i was doing it right, because when i'd jump, is when I could barely hold on to handle anymore
as the kite was producing a lot of power.
this supports the theory of having too small of a kite at the time, and ultimately, not enough wind.
it has no problem picking me up in high wind, i know that from experienced. (holding it at zenith, gust came thru, instantly lifted 3ft)
I've been lookin at some used tube kites... i think it's time for depower.
jumping on fixed bridles is a lot more fun in the bigger sizes and lower winds imho...
jumping on depower you're in a harness and using a bar, it' a whole different ball game. You can handle more absolute power, but you'll lose a
certain quality of control. Yes you get depower, but it works better on the move than flying static. altho for depower i have the same
preference... bigger kites lower winds... slower moving kite, more gradual pop and float, there's time to make small adjustment and ensure a good
landing. (that's all from a static perspective)
jumping on anything less than 5 meters can be fun (fixed bridles) , but i feel the ongoing risk goes up a lot.
so maybe it's time for depower, esp. if you want to get moving with a board / buggy of some kind.
But for jumping on fixed bridles... well lots left there to play with imho.
possibly the best reason for getting into depower is if you have to deal with gusty winds a lot...
Agree that you're not running enough.....
OK enough rambling... Not sure what I'm saying... just keep jumping safely mate... progression is key.
fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....
sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...
also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.
Before you try a depower get a harness and start hooking in to the 4.1. Try holding the handles parallel like a bar. Think HARD about what is going
on when you are flying depower and try to fly the 4.1 that way.
Do brake turns. Feel how flying on the front lines only speeds up the kite and the power is sent to your core. Feel how you can stall the speed by
adding brake ...............
