take a look at the link

Ozone Yakuzas these are one of the top kites for buggy users for speed. they really do pack a punch and just keep pulling and are stable kites and
easy to fly. they also have a large flying window, you can fly and produce enough power right close to the edge of the window to keep you moving.
check them out for yourself.........
hope this helps

shortlineflyer- shoot me a U2U if you are interested in Reactors. I have a 2.9, 4.9, and an 8.3 I would like to sell as a set. Would make a great
quiver for winds from 5-20. I just haven't got around to posting in the for sale section yet.

I love my beamer series kites especially my 5m by HQ, but I also have a blast with my Flexi bullet 3.5 when the winds are kickn'! It has great up
wind power! Trying out the 8m Neo 2 now I have seen them in action and can really get you going!

I'll always have a beamer I guess. I have 2 right now and they are never scary. I also like PL Vipers and Reactors of any flavor. The reactor IIs
are more performance but no problem with some minor kite skills.

to avoid a depower (bar) vs fb (handle) debate ... most buggiers tend to go with FB because you have a little more control using the brake line
tension and you can position your kite a little better.
when you say it doesnt go upwind very well, are you having too much side pull and your fighting that than gaining forward speed. if you have a lot of
rear drift in the buggy?
all kites have some degree of upwind ability, some more than others based on AR and Kite Design. something like a higher AR will be easier to go
upwind as it sits further to the outside of the wind window.
kite placement also plays a factor as well when going upwind. its not like you just park the kite and it screams upwind, there is a bit of skill
involved.
how far does your kite sit when you're driving at speed? if you look is it right at the same angle off to the side? maybe try reducing the back line
tension and let it loose a bit. rear tension equals drag but has more pull, but moving at speed you need more kite speed to that of the kitebuggy
speed.
are you wanting another 5m? any specific windrange you're after? are you still wanting a bar system?
i suggest that you try different kites locally and see what works and what does for you.

I use handles with the scout 5m.
The problem with the scout 5m is that there if almost no power when i try to fly upwind and put the kite at one side of the wind window
I am looking for something that can fly in low wind.
and i also prefer a fixed bridle on handles
maybe 5-15mph wind range

When people say I shot upwind they rarely mean they can travel straight upwind. Are you gaining / able to start + return to the same spot?
Like Ripsession said getting upwind is part kite and part control.
5 - 15mph with one fixed bridle kite takes even more skill. That 5m Scout should fit that wind , not bad?
I am not sure how the bridle is set up on the Scout but an option for you may be to add an AOA adjuster kit ? Flexifoil makes one and I think Angus
carries them ? I good buggy engine is one with low lift. I'm have only flown a 5m Scout shortly on a bar. Being a trainer it should be low lift and
useful on handles?

A 5 meter will not do it in 5 mph... I can just get a ride with my 8.3 Reactor @ 5.
You do need to be fairly powered up for any kite to go upwind well.

Some of that may be that yo are going downwind too much in the first place.
Try to aim your ride so you are close to 90 degrees to the wind and then see if you can go back to the same spot.
Once you can do that, just aim a little more into the wind and see how it goes.

OOPS! Ron is right of course about the 5mph and a 5m. I was stuck on the 15mph part and think that is about the top end ? Not sure if the 8.3 fits the
top end of 15 ?? Close ?? The Scout will fly in 5mph wind but generating enough power to get upwind is a clear challenge.

Am a Bullet fan, a bit older than the rest, but good buggy engines non the less.
Have had sessions using Bullets 1.5, 2.5 and 4.5, have found them easy to handle fly well and go like a scalded cat in a good blow.
And another point is you can still get good quality kites for a good price, just have to look about a little.
Experience is something you get, just after you need it!

I'll second Bigkid on PKD Brooza's for the buggy, especially if you have lumpy inland winds.
Actually, I'm getting pretty fond of the C-Quads now...
