**SCAM**

You guys with shops might want to beware of an order going out of the US to different parts of the world.
HQ has be asked about filling an order by the same person? from different shops. The guy screwed up his name and I checked the info he sent me and it is a stolen CC and the the guy didn't flinch at the 1550.00 bucks for shipping overnight to South Africa.
He gives you his CC number and you fill the order and then the CC company calls you after the shipment is gone and says its a stolen card. You pay back the money to the CC company. Sorry Adams Hanson, NO DEAL!

I am in the wrong business:shocked2:

He changed the spelling of both his names twice and he lives in South Africa.
Got to hand it to the guy, he called the office to see if I was for real, no honor among thieves.

Boy, this guy has some Hooj balls.
Called me back and ran the CC number from some poor sap in IL. Stolen CC! Adams number is 233203678349. Now I have to file a report for Visa and Chase Bank.
Nobody buys a kite at full price and then asks to send it to South Africa, overnight express.
This has been fun, learned some good info with the CC company and Merchant Services:crazy:

there is a process for taking CC so that you're protected. im still old school and like my old swipe machine that imprints if the card is physically there. if the card isnt infront of you, there are some things that you can do.

what discounts are you offering than???
i may not be sending items to south africa, but i have no issues with full priced items shipped overnight to CHINA, JAPAN, AUS.

The problem is that the person who has the CC info is in South Africa. The owner of the CC, Heather, lives in Burr Ridge IL with her husband Joel. They don't know yet the card info has been stolen.
I have spent 3 years cleaning up someone elses mess from my stolen CC.
When you see a charge on your CC that is not yours, you file a clame and it is removed. then the CC company goes back to the person who did the sale and gets them to refund the transaction. They are out the money and the item sold. No thanks, I give away enough as it is I will not refund money to a slime ball CC account.
You can go back 6 months to remove unauthorized transactions from your CC.
Hmmmmmm, I don't think I bought those new shoes that I wore out last week, I just claim I didn't buy those:smilegrin:

Does paypal offer more merchant protection in the event of something like this?

Only when you send to the same confirmed address as the paypal account they have listed.

PP will flag that the address is or not a confirmed address and will list whether or not there is buyer or seller protection before you confirm the recieved payment.

Just remember to take caution with internet payments and sending money. Someone a simple phone call is all it takes. One small LD call fee is worth more than losing a kite or not getting it at all.

You can protect yourself a little by only shipping to the address of the CC owner... If the info does not match, no sale and maybe you could report it too.

Only merchants with CC accounts (old school card/paper and/or terminal machines) can do this, but you can call VISA or MC Merchant and tell them the CC number + Shipping Address you have. They are than obligated to tell you if it matches.

good luck!!!

I found the owner of the card and the husband was out of the country when the CC was used and info stolen. Card canceled, end of story - NOT.
Adams Hanson, from South Africa told me the CC he was using was canceled by his bank and has sent me his new CC info to do the deal.
Sent the info to the FBI cause he wont stop calling me. FBI handles fraud outside the US when it pertains to US citizens.
