I had a Crossfire II in for a test run and I didn't have alot of luck with it. But I didn't ever master the AoA adjustment either and should I give it another whack, I'd probably do better.

I'd fly it first and see what you think if that is a possibility.

hi mike so what was the prob you where having flying it? there no way i can get go on one because of where i live is on island of the west coast of scotland and there's no kite shops on island now. i've heard they are good in low winds and you can change the AoA for buggying . i'll be using it for buggying on calm days. cheers ali.:spin:

I like the Crossfire a lot as it is a very versatile kite. Built tough- to the point of being heavier than most for its size - and very lifty and fun to fly in the normal (higher lift) setting. Versatile because you can turn down the lift for the buggy, but in this setting it requires a bit more finesse - kind of like some race kites but without the benefit of the extra performance boost a race kite will give you. I'd recommend it for someone looking to alternate between buggy and landboard or snow, but for buggy only or primarily, there are better choices, I think. Because of its weight it is not really a light wind machine.

For buggy, consider a Flexi Rage, older Bullet, or Blurr (pricey); PL Viper or Reactor.

Hi Alisdair, Goz has got his 5m Crossfire up for sale on the aussie forum here: http://www.extremekites.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&...

Cris Italy used to run a 6m with pretty good results - having said that he now mostly flys a Montana IV 9.5m.

Anthony (Blackant) sold his a while ago to get into some kitesurfing stuff. Here's the thread: http://www.extremekites.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&...

I'm sure Anthony or Goz would be happy to tell you anything you wanted to know if you PM'd them. Or put up a post under the buggying section - I'm sure you would get a few helpful replys.

The crossfire's have a very good reputation here, I've not heard anything bad about them.

Funny you should say your on an island off the west coast of Scotland - I was watching a documentary on 'Islands of Britain" featuring Martin Clunes and lo and behold, there was some kite buggying going on - can't remember the name but I think it was west of the Isle of Egg. Wasn't expecting to see that but it made my evening!!
