I have a 10 syn and can get going on water at about 20......I would guess you would need at least 25 on water...

at least 20knots for the water, with current even more.

on land fun loopy ride starting about 10 knots, gonna be fast action as it get near 15.

10 is good for starting small loop jumps on land , or kiteloop yankS!

COMPLETE use of the ENTIRE window in light air. even unhooked on land.

it will really set you up for fast kite action and timing on land , it will make everything seem slow after you get use to it. on the water use would be limited to nuclear conditions.

we get a few real good and nuking days here, and i would hate to miss them because of not having an 8m arc... i am sure that i would want at least 25 on water with it, and maybe more... but i also know that the day will come...

besides, i get a little anxious flyin my 12m on land, so an 8m may inspire me to be a little more confident...

... just need one good and windy day before school starts...

... thanks for the intel, guys :)

Yes, 20mph min with a big board. Fun starts around 30 with a medium board, 35 with a small board. All twin tips.

The 8m Syn is starting to be my favorite kite; so nice to use it on the water and on the dry lake bed. Normal El Mirage winds enable the 8m Syn to pull a tandem perfectly, and be lit solo. Lots of side sliding...

Now, does anyone have a 6m Syn they want to sell? My 6m Charger is a twichy thing, quite disappointing. Using a 35cm bar, no bridles, all straps out.

I just came back from a nuking day on the water. I was on my 9M OR Rise and was lit up. Gusts were to 35. So I was thinking about an 8M Syn or Venom. I don't like the way the small tube kites are so fast. dylan did you get to use your 8M Syn on the water and what was it like? What were you riding?
I am starting to like the idea of more board less kite. The days that are nuking often have lulls for a while which sucks when you are on a twintip and move to a smaller kite.
