well now how is he going to wear a helmet?

Longboarder gets into 60 MPH crash. Doctor freezes his skull and removes half of it to save his life. Of course there's a pic!

The article says 60km/h not mph. He's not sure if he'll ever get back on a longboard, yes to snow boarding though!

Poor fellow, I never gave much thought about it but after that I don't think I've seen anyone wearing a helmet longboarding. Reminds me of when my buddy decided to try carving down a long paved hill on the highway, like you see in many videos he took his shirt off and hung it out of his pocket. He made it about a quarter of the way down before bailing dislocating his shoulder and scraping his back and sides so bad that one of his tattoos got completely destroyed. Guess he is really lucky that it didn't go that way. Thanks for the post I'm gonna give this to him cause he still "believes" that I'm less of a man for wearing my helmet to mountainboard.

And don't forget the chick who went out cruising on her motorbike in shorts and t-shirt then binned it on the highway ... there's pics around somewhere and it creeps me out.
Safety gear ... keeps you safe, y'know

"If you have a 10$ head wear a 10$ helmet"

safety gear...
during high school i lived in a town/city in the Nicola Valley in mountainous British Columbia. we were taking turns skateboarding (the narrow old school plastic kind) down a paved road on a huge hill.
we knew the dangers and were carving down not ripping straight down at death speeds.
no helmets/pads...just dumbass balls:D
that seemed to get boring so we decided to see what was what. straight down i went for about the first 3/4 quarters, the last quarter i rode down on the side of my face. can't remember why but i bailed and there was no way in he77 i could get my legs to match the current speed. two or three paces and then a lip stand for quite a distance.
i toughed it out the next day and went to school all road-rashed on the side of my face (little on my shoulder too) only to discover it was picture day:frog::lol:
i wonder if my mother has those pics around anywhere:singing:
safety gear.
a friend told me that magic(death) number for crashes is at 35mp/h or better on pavement. that's not very fast.

"This has really opened my eyes. For snowboarders, longboarders or skateboarders – if you’re not wearing a helmet I will be the first one to say, ‘hey you really need to put a helmet on.' "

"To show pictures of me with both sides of my skull gone and just skin up against the brain – I make a point to say this is what happens when you don’t wear a helmet. If you hit your head hard enough you could break your skull and end up in a coma for three weeks at the age of 25.”

Sounds like he graduated from The School of Hard Knocks as the valedictorian.:duh:

I like helmets actually but it took me ages to find a bike helmet that didn't look stupid AND didn't cost stupid money.
