Kite advise for beginner.
Hi I'm 45 years old, I am an active surfer and many years back was a reasonable skateboarder. I weigh 220lbs and have just got my first atb ELP (Naked
Gnomes), I am using this downhill at the moment getting used to riding it.
What I would is like some advise on is what size kite shall I get to start with and how many lines etc?.
My local beach is 3 miles long and I want to get going this winter, when its to rough/flat to surf. We get a full range of winds on this beach.
:puzzled:

As for size of the Kite it's really about wind speed.
Good first kites. 2 handles - Four lines - Ozone Fury 3 meter. Good Price, Great Kite for pull with little lift. For powerful Verticle lift there
is another Ozone that just came out and there is the Flexifoil Blade.
Bar Kites - Ozone Frenzy. There are a lot of Great Kites out there. I am just most familiar with Ozone.
On the beach you could use Land Board, or Buggy and other fun toys. Lucky you. Get a good helmet too. Shred Ready brand - Super Scappy model is my
favorite.

Kite Sizes
Gaz-
Think about having at least 2 kites, no single kite will allow you to ride in all conditions.
The kite size that you'll use depends on the wind speed, and your traction medium. If you're riding in long grass or deep, wet sand you'll need a
couple extra sq meters of kite to compensate.
Here's what I've been riding, I'm 165 lbs. In Toronto we get light, gusty winds in the in-land fields where I ride.
- HQ Beamer 3.6. I can ride it in just about anything.
- Ozone Frenzy 5.0. Awesome in 'perfect' wind condictions, scary in gusty wind
- Flexifoil 4.9. Best all-around kite. I fly it with handles, which for me increases wind range.
- Peter Lynn 8.4. Lot's of power, but you need consistent wind. Lofting a strong possibility in gusty conditions.
- Flysurfer SpeedAir 12.0. Wham! Tons of power, very floaty. My light wind kite

My first kite for landboarding was Flexifoil Bullet 3.5. It was a good size for practicing in light wind, yet generated enough pull for my
landboarding on grass when wind is right . I weigh 150 lb. Hope this helps.

If you can go with 2 kites, I'd say a 3m and a 5-6m. Should cover you for everything but the lightest of winds. I know the Buster II's are a great way
to get started, Chances are you can get setup with a couple busters, radsails, beamers for the cost of one really good kite as well.
If you're going with just one kite then you'll probably end up wanting something like a 4m.
Sysmic S1 Buggy.
0.7m / 1.4m / 2.0m PKD Buster I
4.4m PKD Buster
10m JoJo RM+
6m Flysurfer Outlaw
12m Ozone Access
