The Gorge

Does anyone live near or going to be at Hood River this weekend? I am going down to Portland and looking to head over there to check out what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, heads towards the coat ;) The gorge is also very nice. It's primarily geard to kitesurfing and there are a few windsurfers left, and some SUP. So don't expect a place to fly on land.

If you are going to spend the time to go to the gorge then by all means schedule a lesson. I've taken a few from different places there are would be happy to reccomend a school/instructor.

The goege is famous for wind. But the conditions are not easy. there's usually a good ammount of swll and chop. But if you learn to fly here you can fly pretty much anywhere else.

I will be hitting Sunset Sunday, getting there around noon. Had too much fun last time to not go. The weather for the Hood River is scary this weekend (for a new guy at least), 15 - 20 with 30 mph gusts, I wouldn't try that with a 6m without a seasoned instructor, which unfortunately I can't afford.

I did hit Sauvie Island this morning and will again tomorrow morning and monday if I can too. Such smooth wind going straight along the shore, got a bunch of good body drags in, wasn't enough for a board though.

Can't wait for sunset, Look out for Monty's windsock as usual right?

I just missed you Josh. It was sunny at Sunset today, Sunday, but 3 - 5....

Just let me know when your going out Stetson. If it's during the week I'll have my son but he loves hanging out and watching the kites, at least for a couple hours, lol.
