Mood: They're ALL good ideas. Right up until they become BAD ideas.

North American Destinations?

Okay, renos are about done and we've racked up a trip for two worth of points to get away sometime between the end of April and the middle of May. I'm hoping for 2 weeks.

What I'd like to find is a place where I can continue my watery pursuits and still have something for the wife to enjoy with Anna on those days I'm out kiting. I've looked into South Padre Island, Miami/the Florida Keys, Hatteras (likely too cold that time of year?)...just don't know where the scene is right for beginner skills and family thrills. Thought about something near Orlando but really I think Anna is just a wee bit young for the happiest place on earth yet. I mean she'd likely love it but really, we wouldn't get much out of our gate admissions.

Anyone have any ideas for that time of year? Am I on the right track with the above thoughts? Thanks for any help.

(And yes, this includes NABX - that ticket's virtually booked.)

The place to go is La Ventana Mexico; that's typicall jsut after the windy season but I bet they'll still have plenty of wind. check it out. There's a bunch of hood river rats that head down there for the winter to taach. I highly reccomend TJ. Or kauai, maui are close too ;)

east has alot of west wind and some early SW stuff ,

MIAMI, KEYS , direction not an issue and plenty of boat support out to the flats ...a few days of that and you'll be somebody different.
