Griffin kite maybe?
If you don't get a response soon, you might want to hit Heliboy50, XdisasterXdrewX or wannabekiter with a U2U. All have or have had Griffin kites.
First impressions here.

yeah I have monkey griffin from '07. I bought it used and I have had no problems with it. (aside from not being able to use it lately....) I
never have kite surfed but it works fine on land. They are good kites from what I can tell and pull like a truck (I'm overpowered around 16mph with
my 15m). I would definitely recommend them. They have high value for the price, which is a tad lower than, say a slingshot or a best kite.
