board has TONS of friction. normal?

I have a cheapy board, mbs atom 90: http://www.mbs.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idProduct=331

If I roll it across a hard floor, it seems to go reasonably far, but if I skate on it, it rolls a few feet then stops pretty suddenly.

Is this a normal feature of landboards? Seems like it really ups the wind I need to get/keep moving. If not normal, what can I adjust or replace?

Thanks!

It sounds like the bearings are worn or in need of lubrication.

Are you the original owner?

The general instructions for cleaning and lubing bearings can be found here:
http://www.mbs.com/enews/riderenewsaug05.html

Just do a search (CTRL-F in most browsers) on that page for "bearings".

Check tire pressure as well. lower pressure causes the tires to deform under weight and will cause increased resistance. Recommended pressure should be on the wall of the tire

it will have drag and not roll out like a regular skateboard.

the weight deforms the tires and slows things down.

Or your lug nuts are too tight. You want to tighten them down so the wheel slows spinning from resistance and and then back the nut off 1/4 to 1/2 a turn around the wheel but there isn't any real wobble between the wheel and the truck and the nut.
