Crossfire II 8.0 - brake line locations?

I just received a used Crossfire 8.0 today and had a question for someone that owns the kite. The kite material is crispy and has very little use on it - looks great....but I had a concern...

How many brake lines attach on each side to the trailing edge? It looks like 2 attachment loops may have been removed/cut out from the kite???

Thanks!!!

contact HQ and ask ... they should be able to provide you a Line Plan.

As mentioned, HQ should be able to provide you with that information. Be careful with that kite... respect it or it will own you. I love mine and fly it when I like to get the adrenaline pumping.

If you scroll through the PDF manual, there is an excellent drawing of the bridling on the kite. It looks like the brake line on each side cascades into two lines, each of which then cascades into four lines, so each side of the kite should have eight bridle attachment points on the trailing edge.

edit: That's the GREEN one isn't it?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses...I do have the manual, but it doesn't help - the drawing is a generalized drawing, not specifically for the 8.0.

Yes, it's the "Green One"...

BILL, you have this kite in your quiver don't you? Any chance you could open it up and check for me? Pretty please....with a wind window on top!

Thanks gang!!!

Ok, I just pulled the kite out and there are 10 attachment points on the kite's trailing edge per side total of 20. Starting from one tip working towards center of kite, the first three come together to one point, then the next three come to another point, then the last four come to another point. Then you should have three red leaders that come together to the green pigtail. Hope that helps!

Awesome - THANK YOU!!

I have 10 also :)

What concerned me was that the 4 center cells don't have any brake lines attached, but you can see 2 reinforcement patches behind the seams on either side of the center line. I guess that's how they manufacture the kite and then cut off the loops.:bouncing:
