I see Libre has a new line of small land sailers in their line-up. Anyone used one or know if they are going to be marketed in the US?

Jellis - what are your thoughts in comparison to Blo-Karts?

If you are looking for a land yacht they are really good, much more stable than a blokart but weighs more.

There is only a chance to take a kid with. A second adult will not fit in the add on seat.

I personally prefer the Buggy with a conversion kit that way you can enjoy both Buggy and Land yacht. You are also very flexible on the set up. Axle width or Tire selection is no problem.

By really strong wind I have seen people hit speeds of around 60mph. I personally don't want to be sitting in a Blokart at that speed.

On the site they say they make sails up to 6.5m but I have seen Libre Sails up to 8m and the smallest is 1.5m so you can ride in almost any wind.
My wife has a Beach Crusier at the moment, It is a absolut blast. I often hook a second buggy up behind it, put on a sail that is too big and go hunt blokarts. The people in the blokarts get really big eyes when you pass them.

If you want to do course racing against Blokarts you will have no chance with the Buggy conversion though. Because of the extra weight they don't accelerate as fast. If you want somthing for the Family were two people can ride together then the Blokart is also the better choice.

So it really depends on what you are looking for.

Thanks for the revue on the Beach Runner. Yes I carry 8 different models from the Protask with sail kit, V-Max II Basis, Truck II Basis, Beach Runner, Micro, Micro Race, Relax and the BloKart.
From parking lots to the beach they are a lot of fun and safe. Look for the new web page coming out as soon as I recover from this last dang surgery.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, IE and Google both take car of translating just fine. Have seen the buggy conversion PTW linked to, along with Big Ben & Weldingod's mod and will probably put someting similar together first. With two buggies, don't need another rig in the garage - yet. The V-Max & Truck Basis II buggies must be hell for stout at the downtube to take the mast support as a cantilever, with no compression or tension struts.

I've only tried a Blokart once. Was on Red Dry Lake a couple years back. Very fun and easy to run, though I like steering with my feet. A real tandem option, instead of a kiddie 'rumbleseat', whether side-by-side or inline, would be a good thing. Ulterior motive - my son hates sailing but thinks dry land sailing looks fun.
