First day on my 9.5m montana V in high winds and almost two feet of snow. Winds were 20-25mph with small gusts. I had a tough time getting an edge started(snowboarding) with that much soft snow and the wind. A storm came sooner than I thought and the wind picked up and I had to pack up. This is were I had some troubles I couldn't bring the kite down. I tried pulling the flag line (not the safety for the trim control)that connects both the outer control lines on the kite and it just resulted in powering the kite up more.

Then the kite really powered up and I got dragged and couldn't reach the trim safety so I released my chicken loop, still had my leash attached I believe its referred as the suicide way (leash hooked onto chicken loop). So the kite remained powered up upside down on the ground until it hit a hill and I was able to roll it up.

I've had a similar problem with my smaller fixed bridle I bring it to the edge of the window in high winds to pack up and it lands fine, but as soon as I let it down the wind drags it to the power zone.

Is there a technique to using the flag line(not the trim safety to fully flag) or in high winds do you have to fully flag the kite? Also I saw an attachment for the lease on the flag line but then the lease gets in the way of the bar when untwisting the lines, can you attach a 5th line on the montana V or is there another option? Thanks

why not dump it on primary safety?

It will stall the kite and bring it down. It will not completely flag but if you need to in high winds, grab one side to flag it.

You could add a 5th line. I think I paid $60 with shipping to have the guys at fixmykite.com sew in center bridle loops for my Neo 1. Then I put little pigtails on so that I could attach the center bridle with larksheads, making it easy to remove for light winds.
