hospital food

Been here sense Monday morning and I have yet to eat anything that was good, not counting the red Popsicle. Load it up with salt and pepper and with another bottle of Tabasco.
The morphine was a bit much with the side affects so now it's Oxy, doesn't help the food taste any better, but who cares.

Sufficient Tabasco sauce will make anything edible, that's why the military puts little bottles in their MREs.

Bummer on the hospital food. Makes a bad deal even worse. We are lucky here....sometimes we even go to the hospital cafeteria for lunch! Same food as they feed the patients (stetson correct me if I'm wrong) but of course sometimes dietary considerations get in the way.
Hang tight....it will soon be in the past. The sooner the better!

I've always thought that Dr's should prescribe home cooking, nothing makes you feel better than a home cooked meal, made with love!(As long as that is not what got you there in the first place! :megan: )

Careful with the meds! Those are some crazy painkillers you're on. You don't even want to know what the street price of that little green pill goes for. :P And opiate withdrawal is nasty, nasty, nasty.

Take it easy! Hang in there! I'll fly tomorrow for you.

Cheers,

Mmm I enjoyed morphine - I never slept so well  heal up soon dude!

Oh and - be grateful you're not in a Japanese hospital :o imagine if you will - you're bored shiftless stuck in bed all day, in pain, not feeling great and are presented with dinner that consists of a whole fish, eyes, guts and all, fried in fermented beans with a boiled cabbage and seaweed side dish ... oh, the horror!

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Kami you guys love that stuff! xD

I've taken trips to China (much different, I know) with my dad and have never seen a more revolting array of food than I saw there. I didn't even think food that disgusting was possible. Pickled chicken feet, live rat, scorpion, possum, sea urchin goo, skinned-but-still-living fish, chainsaw chicken (whole chicken boiled and cleaved with a big knife, bones and all), ox @%#&, you name it... ugh... that's only the start of it...

Make no mistake about it though, Japan has some pretty outrageous food also. I've been served black fish-egg-goo slime stuff with a side of live squid and... okay. I'm making myself sick. It is times like these when I'm more proud than ever to be an American

Cheers,
Seanny

Oh yes, I know what you mean :D Americanized Asian food is WAAAAAYYYYYY different. Although, I am partial to sushi and sashimi. :)

I have been to the poor parts of China, with the smog and the coal dust and the sweat shops and the utter waste of human life. Those people eat what they can catch. Most Americans have no clue. And they don't believe them when I tell them.

Not sure but I think the stuff Seanny was talking about was breakfast this morning, had to send it back. Don't understand how you can screw up on breakfast, Good thing my granddaughter sent chocolate chip cookies yesterday.
Good news, the drain tubes came out this morning, so if the lungs don't deflate, I get to go home:lol: Wouldn't you know it no wind today.

Molasses cookies, watermelon, chicken soup, fresh squeezed orange juice. The breakfast of champions. It is good to be back home. Now to give it another 4 or so weeks and will be good as new. The biggest difference is I can reach into the fridge with my left arm and actually remove something with it.

Yep, now I have a real titanium chest. I especially like the 3-D version of the xray, Shows all the ones that didn't heal were they should have, but found a way to make it happen anyway:puzzled:
More like Frankin-chest :tumble:

Flail chest looks uber painful. I've had to have my radius hammered (literally) back into my arm then reset. Probably the most excruciating thing I've ever felt. But I'd do it again, twice, in place of breaking my chest.
