Wabamun Lake, Alberta

Took a drive out there today and sadly it was a waste of time. Way to much snow, severely cut up by packs of skidoos, lots of bare ice. I wont be going back as it's in a right state! Hope this saves someone a trip there.

Mood: They're ALL good ideas. Right up until they become BAD ideas.

Rumor has it that's the best best for early season open water though so don't write it off completely. I had scheduled today to hit Cooking Lake but the wind Gods said I shoulda went out yesterday.....with you!

We'll have to keep an eye open for a solid Saturday and we can hit Cooking Lake together. A friend of mine is heading out on the 4th so we'll get a first hand report but according to the locals it's on and beautiful.
