Newbie question : Connecting leash - with bar spinning possibility?

As you could see recent thread I asked about kites: http://bit.ly/dXMi9f
So, I did bought Ozone Access 6m for begin ... I saw recent similar thread, but I think my question is little bit different.

Now, since I am doing climbing and I have climbing harness I will use that for longboarding/snowkite ... I did search on internet and i can see that many people are using it.

Since I got this kite today I did look into my climbing rack and realize that I can together with locking carabiner I can also use my Black Diamond Rotor
it is the same as Petzl Swivel

Also, I found in my rack very small locking carabiner Edelrid "Vireo", so that all thing together is not so big...

So, the question is if make sense to connect both leash and chicken loop to the Rotor/Swivel and then to locking carabiner and then to harness. The point is that with this setup is that, if I release chicken loop, I still have leash which will depower the kite and keep kite with me, but when chicken loop is connected allow me to spinning the bar? Please have a look photo.

Anyone use something similar? Or maybe I should do something differently? Not sure if this make sense or what is better option.

Since I am new into all this any advice and comment is mostly welcome. :)

yea that will work but an alternative would be to loose carabiner , open the chicken loop and pass ir through the harness loopn then reconnect.

repeating Carl's words there. It will work for ya, but a lot nicer to hook to the harness directly. Keeps things nice and clean. The leashless re-ride safety system designed into your bar was made so that you don't have to have the leash attached. Just pull that top hat an arms reach up and the kite will quickly drop out or the sky on just the rear lines. Its not a bad thing to have a leash though if you are worried bout having to pull the secondary on your chicken loop. The re-ride is pretty much bomb proof, that you shouldn't have to use it.But definitely practice using them frequently in case you need them.

12m Flysurfer Speed2
6m Ozone access xt
1.5m Ozone imp trainer

Many thanks for feedbacks :) Yeap, today I tested both with chicken loop directly to the harness and my version with additionally carabiner/rotor and works fine... as beginner mostly was practicing releasing both safety primary/secondary(chicken loop) release and quite happy with my setup, since I more confident having leash all the time ... I kind like to have backup option with leash and in the same time have possibility to be able to spin the bar without detaching ... maybe later with more experience I will remove leash as suggested :)

PS: also, happy with new kite :)
Thanks,
