N00B Where and what to buy in BA California

Hi,

I live in the SF bay area. Are there any local places to buy a buggy? Good online sources? Also, any recommendations for a n00bi buggie? I want to be able to ride on sand, how wide do the tires need to be? I won't be going for big air or high speed anytime soon. Less expensive=better.

Thanks in advance.

Im not sure about locally, but I can get you one online. Without spending mega bucks on a super truck, or a bigfoot, your best bet is probably the flexifoil buggy with wide tires. the wide back axle with give more stability, but if your looking to stay cheap, go for the smaller one. This also gives you options later down the road. You can get longer downtube if you need it. You can also get a wide back axle, and also a cambered wheel back axle. Its a great build quality. I weigh 300# and have had no trouble with mine as of yet.

HEY, I LIVE IN OAKLAND AND I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND YOU FLEXI WITH WIDE TIRES,STANDARS TIRE ARE BETTER TO GO FASTER AND YOU WILL NOT FLIP OVER SO FAST LIKE WITH WIDE ONE BUT IT IS HARD IN SOFT SAND.THERE IS NO LOCAL DEALER BUT I HAVE GOOD SOURCES-I CAN GIVE YOU INFO.YOU WILL HAVE TO WATCH TIDES TO BUGGY ON SF OCEAN BEACH OR GO WITH BIG FOOT (TWICE MORE EXPENCIVE)

Thanks for the replies.

I live in Oakland too! I'm starting to think that maybe the Peter Lynn folding buggy with wide tires could be my best bet since storage is currently a bit on an issue.

Too bad there's no place to buy in the bay area. No instant gratification for me!
