This is ridiculous....

So, we have a perfect forecast coming for tomorrow (steady 16-20kts all day long, smooth build and regression)....been watching it since Tuesday. Could barely sleep last night because of it and I've LITERALLY spent about 4 hours today puttering about (aka "pacing") just trying to make the day go by faster so tomorrow will come. Wife thinks I'm insane. I told her I might just go sleep out at the lake tonight.

I was only half joking.......

Tell me I'm not the only one that gets like this? God I hope the forecast holds.......

I've been all over The Weather Network and Environment Canada all week as well; praying that the forecast held true. With our weather over the past couple months, this is much deserved. Not sure how it is for anyone else here, but....having three kids and a wife that stays at home I really have to be conservative about my kiting days. Many times I've been skunked because I decided to hold off cause tomorrow is calling for a better day.

Heading out at 8:30 and not planning on coming in all day!!!!

A friend of mine discovered that the Windfinder superforecasts are pretty darn accurate for our spots so we've been eyeing it all week and it's holding.

I get the same way, walking to the back door every hour when I see the wind is going to be good. When I am driving up and down the highway watching the trees sway back and forth, the flags standing straight out, all I can do is think about getting home hooking up to the trailer and heading for the field. When I know I have an event to go to, this goes on for a few weeks non stop. It is truly addicting. It is a virus. It is our life! Once you get hooked, it's as bad as any drug out there, you just can't stop thinking about getting out and hooking up the lines and launching!

Our wives must really love us to put up with us when we get like this!

I will never stop, I don't want to stop. I just want to fly and be free!

Carl is on to somethng Mac !

Set that old airush bar up on a nice bouncy branch and add some jumping to your pacing. Gets you outside and healthy.

I have killed the wind at so many meet ups I try and tell myself not to get all excited or I'll be let down again. :ticking:

Man....today was a blowout. What do you do when a Flysurfer Team rider (since day one with FSer) tells you he's never pulled in the trim strap on his 8m but he had to today - ALL THE WAY and he's still overpowered. What a bust.

We were all set to launch when we got the "real time report". Worse, I had a fellow PKFer out with me, new (ish) to snowkiting and was gonna let him use the Guerilla but conditions were too sketchy for a new-ish kiter, first time arc flyer. He was gracious and hung out with me for the day as I warmed up the clubhouse to ensure it met "wife and baby warm" status which it did but I still feel bad that not only I got blown out but he did too. 20 knots, gusting to 30. We were picking up 45-50km/h gusts every 15 minutes or so on the meter.

I guess these days happen but man it hurts when it happens to such a golden looking forecast.......

Butterflies and can't sleep when the forecast is kickin' for the following day, is my problem ...

20 gusting to 30? Jeez I might have had to get my 15m Synergy out :o sometimes, being The Fattest Kiteboarder in Japan has it's advantages ...

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I feel your pain. Woke up and saw the forecast was sitting at 35km gusting to 43km. Figured that I would do alright with the access so I got everything ready to go. Made some eggs and toast for the family. Just as we were bout to roll out at a little past nine the cell rings...... guess who? Why of course I would give up a day of kiting and sledding with the wife and kids to go to a service call. At least the winds picked up to much for me to think of pulling the kite out of the bag, otherwise I would have been mad all day. We'll get our turn to enjoy this nice snow soon enough, I can feel it.
