Flysurfer cloth

Hi, finally got a FS speed2 12... Arrived yesterday.
Its my first FS (have venoms, phantom, scorpions, waroo, EH, Fuel, Pansh...).
The cloth is clean and the colors looks ok (some sun color lost, but not too much) not have any crisp feel o shinny look. Feels soft in the hand but strong.
Because its my first FS im not familiar with the feeling of a used flysurfer.
Can any FS owner write a few letters about your kites cloths?

The Peter Lynn cloth looks incredible well after the sea, the desert, the wash machine...always crispy!

Thank you in advance, and sorry for my english.

is your speed SA or normal cloth, that would make a big difference on how they feel.

My FS is a older "gold" edition, and it's this strange crisp yet soft texture.

Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

My pulse II was the same way, brand new. The sail had a weird feel compared to what I was used to (JOJO, Flexifoil, MAC Para). The sail felt "heavy" if you will... smooth but not crispy. I beleive that is a result of the material and / or water repellants they use. When the kite was actually inflated it felt a bit more stiff, light and crisp but on the floor it felt heavy, smooth and not so crispy (right out of the bag). So I think I know what you are saying and assuming yours feels used like mine felt new (and now used) its probably OK (but without seeing it I can't tell you if its super weathered and pourous or just like its supposed to be).

Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2
Rides: Ground Industries

I bought my FS used too. :)

I am no expert, but the kite looks in good shape from the picture. I would be very surprised if your kite had any cloth issues. From reading some users remarks on foilzone.com, some guys have an amazing amount of flying hours on their kite without issue. They have replaced other parts (bridles, flying lines, pulleys, etc), but the canopy cloth is fine.

If you really wanted, I heard of guys spraying a product called Seal'n'glide on older kites. Helps with a number of things from improved water resistance, to reduced wind drag, to brightening the colors. Never tried it myself, but I may consider within the next year for my kite.
